The Nelsonville-York High School Band was well represented at the Ohio
Music
Education Association’s District 17 Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Event
held
Saturday, February 16 at the Ohio University School of Music. The
following
students received a “I” rating which represents a superior
performance:
Brandon Wolf (clarinet solo); Stephanie Kranz (clarinet solo); Chris
Mace
(tenor saxophone solo); Brandon Wolf (baritone saxophone solo); Brandie
Kranz
(trumpet solo); Eric Johnston (trombone solo); Mark Russell (snare drum
solo);
Clarinet Trio #1 which consisted of Christy Jack, Raven Kyle, and
Brandon
Wolf; and Clarinet Trio #2 which consisted of Ainsley Kuhn, Caley Reid
and
Vikki Cox. The following students received a "II" rating which
represents
an excellent performance: Julia Peacock (flute solo); Kaycie Burley
(clarinet
solo); Vikki Cox (clarinet solo); Caley Reid (clarinet solo); Brandi
Norris
(trumpet solo); Roy Plant (horn solo); John Hart (trombone solo); and
Mark
Russell (multiple percussion solo). Julia Peacock took a tenor
saxophone solo
for comments only.
