Time Warner To Lose Stations January 1
Time Warner To Lose Stations January 1
According to the "ticker" that appeared tonight at midnight on many channels on Time Warner, we will be losing 19 Viacom channels throughout the country at 12:01 am January 1.
The ticker gives a phone number where you can call and "Demand" to keep these channels. The number is 1-800-762-3786. I called it and was told they were having technical difficulties so I ended up calling the number on the bill at 1-800-617-4311 and was told that Time Warner was working with Viacom to get contract negotiations settled.
Comedy Central, CMT, Pure Country, Logo, Palladia, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick 2, Nicktoons, Spike, The N, TV Land, Vh1, Vh1 Classic, and Vh1 Soul.

At least Times Warner ran a newspaper ad in Zanesville. The residents of Ironton got no warning at all.

I watch maybe two or three of these station but not very much.
Re: Time Warner To Lose Stations January 1
I don't get the paper here. So I never seen it. Nothing ever in it anyways. Nothing was on the local news that I saw. The first I knew anything about it was an hour or so ago.
I like to watch about 5 of them (All basic) for some movies and older reruns of the better shows. older shows.
If they do not get things settled by tomorrow night, make sure you contact Time Warner on Thursday and have them make note on your account to start deducting the cost from your bill for everyday that you are without the stations. I was told by the lady I talked to that they would HAVE TO make adjustments.

I believe some of these stations can be watched for free online.
Re: Time Warner To Lose Stations January 1
The thing is....not everyone can do that if they don't have a computer.

I dont watch any of those programs but I hate to see the paying customer get it stuck to them.......
first of January is the same every year, folks get a little raise in their retirement check and Time Warner puts a little raise in your bill.....

Re: Time Warner To Lose Stations January 1
So does this mean our bill will go down? I think I already know that answer but maybe someone knows if it will or not.... I agree we should have been giving a warning about this..

I have 4 kids all in the Nick-MTV age group and I watch Comedy Central all the time, just another way that Time Warner is trying to screw us, they won't give what amounts a penny increase per subscriber for these channels, but they will increase their own fees by a few dollars and call it legit.

my kids will be lost without Nick and I will hate losing TVLand. This sucks. I think Ironton needs a new cable provider.

I say give us the NFL Network, WUAB(CLEVE) WXIX (cincy) and keep all of the MTV stations.
