He sure was, I usually spent one evening out there at his station of every weekend shooting the breeze with him back in the mid 80's. Washing my car and stuff in the winter as well. He was a good buddy to about everyone. He is missed by many.noreply66 wrote:Mick was a supper guyTRENCHFOOT wrote:Bowlby's Sunoco. 664 S. I miss ole Mick. He had centerfolds hanging on the walls in his office. He would let me know and take me back there to show me when he added new ones to his collection.cbolt wrote:Didn't he used to keep a dirty magazine in the restroom somewhere ? Re: Area Businesses of the Past...
Me too, I seen lots of kids doing that, snacks was cheaper at Leon's to take to the show. I remember some kids got kicked out of the show for buying pea shooters from Leon's. Leon's was getting good business back in those days when kids went to the show. What was the grouchy women's name that worked in the theater Noreply? She use to flashlight people with their feet up on the chairs in front of them. Make her walk rounds up and down the aisles telling people to be quiet. She would tell ya to shut up if ya kept talking. I remember it like yesterday, it was good times back in the 70's as a kid.noreply66 wrote:use to buy things in Leon's and take them into the show to eat until Rollin put a stop to it.TRENCHFOOT wrote:Leon's on E main. Don't remember her...I mostly went in the 60s when they had two guys. One night I was in the back row making out with a girl and he came through the row and said.."this is the movies if you want to do that get a motel" first time in my life that I heard that..I started to laugh cause it was darn funny and he kick my butt out for two weeks. He didn't work the next night so we went back and suck face started all over.
