I remember reading an article about a moose that was shot in Kentucky several years ago. As I remember, they didn't charge the guy as there is no moose season in KY, but the guy said, 'Well dang, I just saw a moose and I shot it".

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife officials said the hairless animal is actually a hairless raccoon.
