2012 Newberry Sporting Goods Boys Basketball Tournament

Newberry Sporting Goods will be sponsoring a Boys 4th, 5th, and 6th grade Basketball Tournament February 13th - 19th at Portsmouth High School.

The tournament will take place on the campus of Portsmouth High School and Portsmouth Elementary School.

The tournament will be based on a pool play format with a single elimination tournament. ALL school affiliated travel and all star teams are welcome. Players on each team must attend the same school.

Features:
1. Teams are guaranteed 3 games
2. Games will be officiated by licensed officials
3. Games will be played on regulation courts

Sounds like some good teams in there. Tobias, keep me up to date on how Tobias Jr. does with Portsmouth 6th grade team. Also have rooting interest in both Minford teams and the Jackson 6th grade team also. Some very good kids on all these teams.

Tobias, I figured that's who would end up in the championship. Although I didn't see Jackson, my friend's son plays on their squad and I saw them last year as 5th graders. After we lost to you guys in a good one, we beat Ashland that night. Then, we played at 10:00 Sunday and our boys never woke up until the 3rd quarter. Mason came out hot from the 3 point line and we had the "deer in the headlights" thing going on. It was good for our boys, though. They rolled through the Valley tourney and I think they might have got the big head. Hopefully it was a good learning lesson for our kids. We're looking forward to coming down to your place tonight...you guys always run a nice tourney!
