Kevin Wilson is hired as Tulsa is head coach. Will stay with the Bucks as OC until at least the CFP semis to help continuity for State:

Keenan Bailey has been promoted to tight end coach for the Buckeyes. Bailey has been on the OSU staff since 2016 as an analyst and special advisor for the football team. He will assume the TE duties being relinquished by the soon to be departing Kevin Wilson.

CJ Stroud finishes a distant third in the Heisman award behind winner Caleb Williams and runner up Max Duggan.

Stroud has one of best arms to ever grace a college gridiron. Hopefully he can find the missing "it" factor and lead the Buckeyes over Georgia.

Stroud is Missing the IT factor to me. Duggan and Williams have shown they will do whatever it takes to WIN. Stroud is very good but has a lot to prove. I hope he proves me wrong.

I'll be predicting the Dogs from Athens in this game. Just too many horses for the men from Columbus.

You're right...CJ doesn't have the It factor...Caleb Williams pulled a hammy mid 2nd qtr vs Utah and he continued to play. Max Duggan willed TCU to that game tying td...AND 2pt conversion as he rushed for 90 yds on that drive (they had a 15 yd penalty)...he also was bleeding on his left forearm. Blood and guts!! IMO..those are It factors.

Georgia pulls away in 2nd half...that's my thought on the game. Bennett is kinda like a young Brady...game manager...chess player...call it what you like.

And I enjoy a good chess match... that will come vs Bichigan...unless Duggan pulls out something dramatic. Stay tuned...man I can't wait for New Years Eve!!!

Yeah, hate to say it, but Michigan has the best chance of beating Georgia. They can match physicality with UGA and honestly have a QB with the "it" factor.

Ohio State has three players in transfer portal even though the Bucks are in the playoffs:

Not an indictment of the Buckeye program. Just a dose of the new reality in college football.

Not that it will change the outcome of the upcoming game, OSU's Marvin Harrison Jr has achieved unanimous All American recognition:

Also LB Steele Chambers announces he will return to Ohio State for the 2023 season:

And speaking of Marvin Harrison Jr., he claims he deserved to win the Biletnikoff Award. Given he achieved unanimous All America status, he has a case. Yet are his "me first" comments reflective of a culture change not only at Ohio State but college football in general. Placing self and individual goals before team?

Yeah, I want to think OSU probably lost out in a NIL bidding war rather the OSU program being perceived in a bit of disarray or decline under Ryan Day. Apparently the decommitment has been in the works for some time, which likely prompted AD Gene Smith to go begging for NIL donations and OSU recently recently flipping QB Lincoln Kienholz for the class of '23. I think we are seeing signs of how the power structure of CFB can quickly rise and fall with the rule changes.

Recently it seems the winds of football favor have abandoned Olde Columbus Towne.

From Eleven Warriors:

Ohio State freshman offensive tackle Avery Henry announced the diagnosis in a tweet Monday night, vowing to fight the disease the way he’s always fought adversity in his life and thanking his Ohio State teammates and coaches for their support.

let’s hope 7 is on fire and turns this thing into a track meet. i don’t like our chances playin a run game with solid defense. if we win. we need to win ina shootout.

He'll have to get the same protection he has gotten most of the year to get it done. Like most games, it will come down to who dominates the line. The Georgia secondary can match up with the Buck receivers so he will have to have lots of time to scan the field. I expect a hard-fought game that could go either way but if Georgia can get heavy pressure on Stroud it could get ugly. Buckeyes are the dogs which is a plus.

Ohio State fared reasonably well during today's early signing period for high school recruits. The Bucks signed 19 players which include one 5 star, 4 stars, and one three star player. The Bucks did lose out on coveted defensive players to Alabama and Oregon. The Bucks will likely fall somewhere between 5th and 10th in the nation recruiting rankings when all is said and done on the last NSD next spring. As usual with Coach Day, State's recruits are top heavy on the skilled offensive positions. That and State will need to up there player development game going forward.

Buckeyes are in Atlanta. Just four more sleeps until it is game day. One would assume the hard prep has been accomplished back in Columbus, and all that remains is bowl site acclimation and the obligatory bowl public relations activities.

Ohio State enters the game as only a 6.5 point underdog to Georgia, yet the Buckeye media and fan sites are full of predictions of UGA winning by 21 points or more. Articles focus on OSU shortcomings rather than on how Georgia can be beaten. A kind of Ohio against the world scenario.

I hope otherwise but I can see the Bucks suffering a beat down like they experienced against Clemson in 2016. Could OSU find some hidden leadership and fortitude? Certainly, but where has it been the last two years?

UGA 34 OSU 13

What say you!
