Softball: Denison 10 Kenyon 2 5 Innings

Denison improves to 10-8, 1-0 N.C.A.C. with their conference opening win over Kenyon 15-6, 0-1. Sara Campagna (Saint Charles, IL) put Kenyon up 2-0 with a double in the 2nd. Jessica Hopkins (Las Vegas, NV) cut it to 2-1 in the third. Later in the third Freshman catcher, Annabelle Calderon (Perris, Calf) hit a three-run bomb to give Dension the lead for good at 4-2. Allie Kovatch (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), the only Ohioan on the Denison roster had an RBI in the fourth on a single. Also in the fourth, Claire Powell (Richmond, Va0 plated one on a groundout, and then Maggie Ballentine (Crown Point, Ind) made it 7-4 with an RBI single. Jacqui Abogado (Naperville, Ill.) double in one in the fifth making this an 802 game in the fifth. The last two runs in this one also came in the fifth, on a single from Clara Wolff (Bellevue, Wash.).
