The Southern Ohio Copperheads are back after taking the last two years off due to the pandemic.

The Southern Ohio Copperheads have been a part of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, which has teams throughout Ohio, Michigan, and one team in Indiana. Since their inception in 2002, the Copperheads have made the postseason thirteen times, making the GLSCL Championship game three times and winning it in 2018, with the team’s overall record being 399-325 in this span. The Copperheads have brought on some talented players over their existence, having close to 50 former players drafted by Major League Baseball teams. The Copperheads make their home at Bob Wren Stadium on the campus at Ohio University. The university also supplies the team’s staff of student workers. The Copperheads are a student-run organization and give internship opportunities for students in several different majors ranging from Sports Administration to Journalism, and more.
