Appy State's Armanti Edwards

Post by USAF_Defender23 »

Friday night this QB ran for 200 yards in the 1st half and finished the game with 31 carries for 313 and 4 TDs. Not to mention he was 14 of 16 for 182 yards and 3 TDs passing.

So how awsome is this. Appy State plays Deleware in the 1-aa national title game. Deleware looks almost identical to Michigan.

Can a D1AA player be mentioned for the Heisman or is it just 1A?

As long as he is in the NCAA and not the NAIA, then he can. But it would be very unlikely for a non-FBS (1-A) to win it. Wasn't McNair a finalist a few years ago.

Yea I heard them mention McNair last night but for a 1AA player to win I'm sure he would have to have an absolutley great year and break alot of records in the progress.

We listened on our way to the YSU football banguet to all the pre talk about the winner that would be on Saturday night for the Heisman. One of the announcers mentioned that this young man deserves to win the award and the other one said how much it would turn the D! world upside down if he did. No doubt Edwards has great stats and ability and the bagboy told me he is only a sophomore...geesh! This means the National Championship could have to run through him the next two years.

Wasn't Marshall in the MAC when Moss played?

When Moss was a freshman Marshall was in 1aa going 15-0 and winning the NC over Montana in Huntington, WV. Moss's stats were out of this world.

The year Marshall played Ole Miss in the Motor City Bowl, Pennington was the QB. I just watched the replays of that game on ESPN Classic - AMAZING!
Ole Miss and Marshall had exchanged TDs before the 14 minute mark in the 1st QB

Pennington to Moss - a lethal combination 8)

Guys I can clear up this Pennington or Kresser thing. In 1996 Chad Pennington redshirted to get another year of eligibility.Kresser who transferred from Florida was the starter in 96.Pennington came back in 97.

He had Chad and Kresser in different seasons.

Leftwich wasn't around in Mosses days.
