It took 2 games against Minnesota, but the Buckeyes got it done. Last night, OSU fell to Minnesota 9-6 in the first semifinal. With their backs against the wall, the Buckeyes took the field in their second semifinal game against Minnesota this morning, and came away with an 8-6 victory. Now, Ohio State advances to the championship game against 5th seeded Nebraska coming up very soon today.

Big Ten Tournament Champions!!!! The Buckeyes (#7 seed) became the lowest ever seed to win the Big Ten Tournament title. They did so by defeating Nebraska 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. So, OSU will be headed to the big dance, and will get the Big Ten's automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament. This is their 10th Big Ten tournament championship, tied for the most of any team.

Ohio State will learn their NCAA fate on Monday.

The Buckeyes learned their NCAA Regional selection earlier today. They will be heading to Nashville for the Vanderbilt regional, where they will be playing #1 seed (#2 overall) Vanderbilt in their first game. Ohio State received the #4 seed in the regional. Their first game will be on Friday at 7pm on ESPN2. The other two teams in this regional are Indiana State and McNeese.

OSU took on a freight train in their first regional game on Friday, as they took on host #2 Vanderbilt and fell 8-2. Next up, the Buckeyes had to wipe the dust off their shoulders and get ready for their Saturday game against McNeese. The Saturday game turned out to be a thriller, and one that definitely had to be earned. The game turned out to go into 13 innings before the Buckeye's senior captain, Ridge Winand came up with a massive go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 13th to give OSU the lead for good.

McNeese is now the first time to be eliminated from this regional. Ohio State will play 2nd seeded Indiana State in another elimination game on Sunday at 3pm.

With the way the regular season went for OSU, many fans were wondering what the state of the program was. With a fairly young team, it would be safe to say that the program is hopefully on the rise. After a dominant run as the #7 seed through the B1G Tournament, the Buckeye's season ended on Sunday in the NCAA Regional. In the elimination bracket, they fell to a very good Indiana State team, 10-5.

One can hope, that more good things are to come from this Buckeye team, as head coach Greg Beals has received a 3-year contract extension.
