Stroud sure is taking his time announcing. Could he really be thinking of coming back for unfinished business? Maybe not winning it this year was a good thing for Buckeye Fans and also maybe the money is keeping him fat and happy staying put for another year. Given the offensive line is taking a huge hit I can't imagine he would want to be back and risk injury.

Lol, he must have seen my post. I figured it was too good to be true. Going to be interesting next year. Not only losing the most important position on the field but all of the linemen. The good news is the defense should be pretty decent with them linebackers coming back. They will need them more than ever next year breaking in a new QB.

Timing is everything Bolt!

2023 is going to be interesting for the Buckeyes. The way to early polls have Michigan the solid number one choice in the Big 10, with Penn State and the Bucks interchangeable for second and third. Yet some are pegging the Buckeyes to return to the playoffs. Maybe with these mixed expectations, State can surprise just as much as they disappointed during the second half of the 22 season. 2023 will not be boring.

OSU wide receiver and inspirational team captain, Kamryn Babb, has announced he will retire from football. In a career plauged by injuries, he fought valiantly to contribute and was rewarded with this one glorious moment:

Ohio State is reportedly set to add quarterback from transfer portal.

Tristan Gebbia, a 7th year senior, is reported to have chosen Ohio State to complete his college eligibility.

He started his career at Nebraska in 2017 before transferring to Oregon St where he has played sparingly, sitting out in 2018 due to the existing transfer rule and missing 2021 with injury.

I really do not see him in the mix to start at QB but would provide some experience as a backup.

If they were going after a QB (Not that I thought they needed one) I was hoping for a bigger name, with more playing time.

I see this player as simply insurance for depth. One would think that the loser of the McCord-Brown competition to start will enter the spring transfer portal, which would leave OSU with only two QB's on scholarship. Thus this young man fills the void.

Buckeyes add an offensive lineman from transfer portal. Victor Cutler comes in from Louisiana Monroe. Kind of an underwhelming signing, but he should add depth and experience at both tackles and center.

Safety Josh Proctor to return for sixth season at Ohio State. Very talented but has rarely performed to his potential in his time as a Buckeye, losing his starting job last season.

The OSU Athletic Department released its financial report for FY 2022(7-1-21 to 6-30-22)

Revenue $251 million
Expenses $226 million
Gross Margin $25 million

By itself the football program generated $109 million in revenue against $69 million in expense. It obviously subsidizes the 30 other sports at OSU.

The prior fiscal year, OSU ran a $69 million deficit during the covid season.

James Laurinaitis, three time All American linebacker at Ohio State from 2005 to 2008, has been added to the Buckeye football coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant/Analyst.

Laurinaitis played in the NFL for eight years, seven with the St Louis Rams and then the Saints where injury forced his retirement.

Laurinaitis did broadcasting work with the Big 10 Network and a local radio station in Columbus. His last gig was as a GA at Notre Dame last season.

Honestly his hiring won't have an immediate impact on the Buckeyes defensive performance but should generate some energy and excitement for the team. Hopefully Laurinaitis can build on this opportunity and become an actual position coach.

Per Eleven Warriors, Ole Miss cornerback Davison Igbinosun to transfer to Ohio State.

Can't hurt as the Buckeye defensive secondary needs all the help they can get.

Ryan Day announces Tyler Friday and Palaie Gaoteote are no longer playing for Ohio State. They did not elect to use the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the pandemic.

Friday was a team captain but played little last season. Gaoteote rarely played to his 5 star potential, first with SoCal then the Buckeyes.

Given the scholarship limit of 85, incoming new recruits and transfer players, plus the covid extra year of eligibility, I would imagine college head coaches have had "roster management" added to their job duties.
