But then the Big-10 runner-up @ 8-5 would have to play in the "El Conchita Alamo Liberty Armed Forces Siesta Bowl" in Podunk, USA. That wouldn't be right.

OSU hasn't been playing two good games in a row.
They weren't playing particularly well the championship year, defense was giving up a lot of points, and games were closer than they should've been against inferior teams. They beat Michigan, then went on one of the greatest runs in CFB history over the last 3 games. It's a different time of year, and I expect this team will excel.

Very true. Same can be said with the 2002 team. Lots of close games.

The level of energy and enthusiasm as a whole cannot let down this weekend in Indy. I fully expect OSU to boat race Northwestern if OSU cleans up the penalties and our O line plays like they did against scUM. OSU needs to come out swinging and bury NW during the first half as they are not a high powered offense that is good playing from behind.

Get them down a couple of scores early, force them out of their clock eating offense which forces them into playing too aggressive and turnovers will follow.

great points by everyone. consistency is the key here. can the bucks continue like they did when we played Michigan. pat fitzgerald is a seasoned coach and will have the wildcats ready. but honestly with the athletes we have it could get like the Michigan game if we are on. but we can't just pin our ears back and get lulled into trickeration plays either. over pursuit can be deadly early on a team that comes out too amped. I see nw doing some screens and reverese type stuff trying to catch an aggressive buckeye d off guard. look for anything, fake punts, onside kicks. deep shots on 3rd and long looking for a flag. we must play hard , but smart.

There is one thing that OSU has that ttun and Northwestern do NOT have all over the field: SPEED!

I expect a well balanced offense vs Northwestern Saturday night. Crossing routes that pull NW's LB's into space, hitch and go routes and several shots down the field early and often.

Against Maryland it was the Dobbins show. Against ttun it was the Weber show. Cant wait to see which one gets in rhythm for this one in Indy.

With the talent OSU has they dont need to vary from their offensive or defensive gameplan for this one. NW is basically a less talented and slightly slower team than ttun. Dont give up the big plays defensively and let those 5 yard crossing patterns turn into big YAC. Lull them to sleep trying to match up with our WR's on the shorter routes and then go over the top.

Turnovers, drive stopping offensive penalties and not playing assignment football are the only ways NW stays in this game past the 1st quarter. The only thing that can stop OSU's offense is themselves. Lets not do that against a very disciplined NW football team.

Bury them!

 It's just a game whereas the OSU players already know they will all be working for the NW players once they go into the workforce and establish real careers.

I'm sure the Buckeye players are cool with playing on Sundays while the NW players have their "real careers".

NFL is good but most of them , if they even make it for awhile then must get a real job. Good luck to the 7% who get drafted from colleges (50% without degrees) even though a lot of them played 4 or 5 years and the 2% who actually make it in the pros. The other 98% better figure out more than how how to run, jump, throw or catch after they get past 25 or so. 8-) * I would have thrown tackling in there also but who does that anymore ? *

Oh I'm sorry, excuse me. I thought we were talking about a football game, not a Wall St. interview. Still, don't take Northwestern lightly. They can play football as well as diagram a head and shoulders stock market move.😁

Sure they do!!....I love how they play...AND....Coach Fitz is one of MY favorite Coaches and people in College Football...Check out their facilities on and off the Lake!..Beautiful....And he is the REASON....But as far as the game goes...I will tell you this...Coach Fitz forgot more football in the time it took him to pinch off a Loaf this morning than what ohio's Pinnochio EVER knew..and EVER will....They will play 2-high safety and play zone under also, and that will prevent those ohio kids from having their way just running Mesh like they did against slugpugs like UM and all the chaff they play who have wanted to Man-up in Nickle!!.....NOT SMART!!!....NW is so limited offensively and so unathletic it will prevent them from being competitive in this game. Or it should. But it wont stop them from battling like hell.

I love how much you hate on OSU. You think it bothers me and that's the greatest part.

Now knowing who you are, it's not surprising how depleted and depressed of a person you are in real life too.

You do realize that tOSU is THE school to go to in this region of the country for just about anything related to the medical field?

It's harder to get into the Veteranary Medicine program at tOSU than it is most regular human medicine programs at other medical schools.
