Valenths observations after 3 Weeks of College Football.

Post by Valenth »

I got a Little Time to make a post. So let me rack my brain!

A lot of surprises so far... my Contenders and Pretenders For Now!

Contenders... 5 Total

Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Miami and Florida State.

Pretenders... 5 Total

Notre Dame, Texas, Clemson, Florida and South Carolina

Lots of surprises in teams like South Florida, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. Teams that have no business beating Ranked Teams at most points. I think this proves Preseason and Early Rankings mean absolutely nothing.

My Prediction for the Top 10.

1. Ohio State
2. Penn State
3. LSU
4. Oregon
5. Miami FL
6. Georgia
7. Illinois
8. Texas
9. Florida State
10. Oklahoma

Texas drops due to the very Mediocre playing of Manning
Notre Dame falls out of the top 10 with their loss to Texas A&M.
Oklahoma leapfrogs South Carolina and Clemson after their ugly losses.

It's nice to make a post after a few weeks!

Thoughts?

Good to see your user name!

Parity through three weeks. Nobody has been heads and shoulders best above the crowd. Even Ohio State has potential issues and their marque win over Texas is not quite as bright with the Longhorns playing below their preseason hype.

I agree zahn, that win over Texas don't look near as good now. Manning hasn't even come close to living up to the hype. I read where he is even getting booed by his home fans. I feel sorry for him to have to live up to that name.

Agreed. But this gives Sayin the Experience he needs to get better each and every single game.

If the Buckeyes can figure out a consistent run game, sky is the limit. We will know more about the Buckeyes when they travel to Seattle in two weeks to play Washington . That will test Sayin against a good team in front of a hostile crowd.

Yes, that will be a real test, probably tougher than Texas as loud as that place gets. Tornado sirens blaring with fans so close to the field makes that place crazy loud! Buckeyes would always lose out there when I was growing up when they played. Huskies have the Apple Cup coming up this week. That will be dangerous for them since it is a rivalry game, and you know they will be looking ahead.
