Re: Vote for your Coach of the year
I think now at this point urban will def be a finalist for coach of the year. But, the voters will without a doubt give it to the man leading the golden domers. Brian Kelley will win coach of the year.
When notre dame is successful they are always a media darling and they will send the award to south bend. Not saying Kelley doesn't deserve it because he does, hes done a great job. But of undefeated coaches the ND coach will win everytime lol.
Plus I still think alot of voters disregard what Meyer and OSU has done for the simple fact of the NCAA sanctions.
Man hands down should win B1G coach of the year though. Between him and Bill O'Brian.

Kelly with meyer second... Irish had a far far far tougher path to go undefeated than going undefeated in a down big ten.

ND had a lot of great names on the schedule.
Those names finished with a combined record of just over .500.

ND has a very good defense. But I agree with Dubs, they played a schedule with many pre season hyped up teams that failed miserably in USC, Michigan State, BYU, Miami and Oklahoma. USC might be the biggest letdown of the year. Preseason #1 ranking and they struggled with good competition.
Take Barkley out of the lineup and they limped right into the ND game which ND was barely able to win. The National Championship game might be ugly.

Regardless of the B1G hasn't lived up to standards of the sec or whatever everyone judges on now a days, it's incredibly hard to go undefeated in college football. There's only 2 teams who were able to get through all year unbeaten. It's not like they were playing suck a$$ teams every weak just because they were from the B1G.
The buckeyes has some tough games and squeezed by a few times no doubt of all the teams to ever finish undefeated they were challenged at some point and the will to win those teams find to pull it out is what makes them great!
No matter what you say it's hard to go on the road at Michigan State, Penn state (at night) and Wisconsin and stay unbeaten. And they beat a pretty good Michigan team. And the team representing the legends division, Nebraska, the buckeyes smoked.
ND had the names on their schedule but nothing overly spectacular. They beat navy, BC, wake forest and Pitt who were all scrubs. They beat Miami who wasn't much better. They beat mIchigan state, Purdue and michigan. 3 of the same teams OSU beats. ND won 2 overtime games this season to stay unbeaten (stanford home and pitt home 3ot). OSU won 2 overtime games this year to stay unbeaten (Purdue home, Wisconsin on the road). They both finished finished with a win over their season ending rival game. No team on either ones schedule lived up to expectation and have a great season to show as a big win.
So looking at what they done in comparison is very similar

4 of the 6 wins OSU had that were decided by 7 points or less were against teams with sub 500 records . OSU beat nearly no one of any significance . very good year but because the conference was way down it drags them down as well. but to see OSU fans doggin on other people schedule ? shameful. BTW alabama plays their 3rd top ten team next week.

I don't care if u win every game by 1 or 20 or what the teams record was, to still go undefeated for the season is impressive whether you are ND or OSU.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure it certain cases to finish undefeated is more impressive than others but still a great season regardless.
And in ur case it's ok to dog OSU schedule but its not ok for us to use a schedule in comparison to show what OSU did wasn't quite as awful as everyone makes it seem? No where did I say Bama or ND sucks, they played no one or any of the garbage OSU fans have heard all season. OSU didnt play a fantastic schedule, everyone knows thay but that doesnt change the fact they did what only 1 other school could. In fact, I actually applaud ND for running the table and having the turn around this season that they have, and this comes from a person who despises ND lol

How is urban a no-brainer? for one they had a cup cake of a non-conference schedule and a down big ten this year. no wonder they went undefeated. Yeah they're good and all, but put them up against those top four teams and they go 0-4. Brian Kelly should get the nod. No one thought they would go undefeated and wasn't even ranked
Re: Vote for your Coach of the year
Gotta go with Kelley. Ohio State was irrelevent for a season. Notre Dame has been irrelevent for 20 years.
