Jake Stoneburner Arrested!

Post by seofan_via_dublin »

Stoneburner was arrested Saturday morning on obstructing official business charge.
He was booked and released on $2,000 bond.

In the early morning Saturday Stoneburner was at a restaurant, when he and a friend were spotlighted by police.
They ran at first, but stopped and complied once they realized it was a police car that spotlighted them.

It was the Shawnee Hills police department in Delaware county. They are notorious for not pulling any punches.

Word is, charges will be dropped on Monday.

OLineman Jack Mewhort was also arrested in the incident.

It occurred at the Bogey Inn, very near Muirfield Golf Course, site of this weekend's Memorial tournament.
Police thought the group was urinating between buildings.
When they tried to confront the group, they ran.

Per the Blade In Toledo, both players suspended pending outcome of the case.
Did not Urban previously state a no tolerance policy regarding arrests?
Meyer's leadership of the program will be tested.

The players contend they didn't know who was lighting them up when they were urinating, but the police chief says they knew exactly who it was, they ran by a daycare center through a shopping center parking lot over to a hill on Dublin rd., 2 were found hiding behind a car in a Muirfield parking lot and the other was found hiding in a treeline,so it sounds like they did know what was going on if the police report is right.

They've been suspended from the team, until the case is settled. Arraignment hearing on June 11.
Once the minor fine is levied, or the case dropped, they'll run some stadium steps, take their lumps from the staff, and start the season in game 1.

This is a very minor issue, and Urban is handling it well.

Lol geez that sounds like a lot if ground to cover just to find two kids that were relieving themselves in an alley.Must be pretty boring up around the area in order to get tracked down for a misdemeanor lol haha who hides behind a car anyway... How have you been btw Bolt

The old saying is "Nothing good happens after midnight".

I was a college kid once, I know how it is. Couldnt imagine being an OSU football player. But still, they put themselves in a poor situation and they must face the consequences!

Say what you want, believe what you will....at the end of the day these are young immature kids and they often make mistakes....Some get caught, most don't....We put these youngins on a pedestal, as though they are full of adult life experiences....Just because they are outstanding athletes, doesn't mean they are any more or less mature than the next student...Now, if you break team rules and/or the law, then they need to be shown there are consequences...I believe it's ridiculous to think student athletes are supposed to be "PERFECT", in game or life. You can't grow and you can't learn life's lessons, unless you are living. And if you are living life, you will make mistakes. IMO

Removed from scholarship.
Has to pay their own way for summer classes.
Can use team facilities, but not with the team.
Can be reinstated, but not until conditions are met, and not until after the summer session.

All for making poor decisions.

Message sent.

These players are two very critical keys to this season's success.
Meyer stepped up and has sent a message to his team.
You are under a microscope, because of stupid decisions of players past.
Don't screw up!
