Agree with Oafer! Although I didn't like him for obvious reasons he had it all, size, speed, good hands, hard worker, durabilty, intelligence(which separates him from Moss IMO) can't ask for much more.

Another good one missing from the list above: Steve Largent

I never did care much for the Niners but have to go with Rice. When I was young I always thought Harold Carmichael was a good one.

man this list and the comments bring back memories------------but in my book no competition to jerry rice , yet anyway. as much as it pains me to say , as a Bengal fan for obvious reasons. I was thinkin about bambi, largeant, warfield, and the like when I read it.

What made Rice good was the over all talent on the 49ers....Largent and Warfield played on less talented team and still were standouts . if Rice played on a less team he might not be a top ten receiver.

Sorry folks, it's Jerry Rice in a landslide. As much as I love Paul Warfield, he wasn't even the best Buckeye. Largent was a good one too but still no where near the level of a Jerry Rice. As far as Rice playing on very talented teams, this is true and believe me there isn't a team I hate worse than the niners except maybe the Squealers, but look what Barry Sanders did on Lion's teams that for the most part absolutely sucked. Jerry would have been the greatest ever on any franchise in my opinion.

Rice not even a top 10 receiver if he played for someone other than the niners? Really? I would invicerate you verbally for such tripe but you wouldn't get it, leaving me with no satisfaction. What a landslide in stupidity. (Man/dude)

Thought the same thing. Ward should have never been on the list.

With being the Steelers all time reception leader, yards receiving and TD he will get a lot of votes to be in Canton.

He's not even on the all-time top twenty list.
