really good to see him get it in a reds uniform and without any steroid speculation (knock on wood). way to go Griffey, next stop, Cooperstown.

his club option for next year is what 16 mil? trade him this year to an AL contender, so you get something out of him before he becomes a free agent

Perfect Timing! The Reds are back home today, and the part of the street in front of GABP is being officially renamed "JOE NUXHALL WAY".
They got a huge banner up recognizing Junior's 600th HR in time for the ceremony officially renaming the street. Heaven knows the Reds need SOMETHING to celebrate given their overall lousy record and standing!
Now just let Junior get 10 more HR's while still in Cincy to move from #6 to #5 on that list. [I think Sosa has 609.]
I am not a baseball fan - but even I can applaud this achievement. If Griffey had not been injured so often and for such extended periods of time, don't you think he would probably be approaching/achieving 700 by now rather than 600?
