Keppinger is gone. Arroyo is suffering with carpal tunnel syndrome and that isn't helping his curveball. I thought Gonzalez pulled a hamstring. Is it healed? I think Hairston deserves a shot somewhere after last year, or until he proves he cannot do it. I also read where Hopper was optioned to the minors.

I heard that Hairston will be the every day left feilder.

IMO that would be a mistake putting Harrison in left over Dickerson!

IMO !!!Arroyo is just out for the money!!I remember at the end of last season crying wanting to stay a Red!!!Bottom line its about the money, and no one would pay that much for him.

Not a bad article. Gary Sheffield? Can he still play D?

I think it would be great if the Reds could get Sheffield. They could throw him in at 3B and get rid of Encarnacion. 3rd cant be any harder than SS, and that is the position that Sheffield enter the majors at when he was with Milwaukee.

I have always liked sheffeild but 3rd???
I know he still has pop in his bat in the 5-6 or 7th hole but I don't think his D is very good any more.
He wants 3 or 4 hundred AB's a year thats why the Tigers cut him. I don't see him getting that many at bats in Cinci.

Sheffield would be a plus for Reds even at age 40.

Sheffield signed a 1 year 400k contract with the Mets.Reds could really have used him.

just read that Arroyo arrived to cincy ahead of the team to have his right hand checked out due to carpal tunnel. Does anybody know if this is an injury to be concerned about?

It bothered him alot last year and has flamed up again durring spring trainning.
I don't know if it will put him on the DL, but when it flares up his curve ball is junk.

Not good for a guy who needs a curve to be effective.

Pitching will not be this team's problem. Offense is going to struggle to score runs, there is not a proven RBI man in their lineup. That is not to say there is not potential there but the Reds are counting on everyone having a better year than last year and that very seldom happens.

I can't wait to see what Votto can do this year. If he works as hard as they say, then he should a fine year.
