Reds today announced the following transactions
Selected from AAA IF Matt McLain (YES!!)
Placed on the taxi squad LHP Brandon Williamson (Assuming he will make the start tomorrow)
Placed on the 10 day IL, retro to Friday, OF TJ Friedl (left oblique strain)
Transferred to the 60 day IL 1B Joey Votto (This allows McLain to be added to the 40 man roster without making a cut)
McLain will play SS and bat 2nd in today's lineup! Lets go Reds!!

From MLB
The Reds added experience to their pitching staff on Friday by signing right-hander Luke Weaver to a one-year, $2 million contract.
Utility player Matt Reynolds was designated for assignment to make room for Weaver on Cincinnati's 40-man roster.
Weaver, 29, is a veteran of seven Major League seasons with the Cardinals, D-backs and Royals. Over 115 games (81 starts), he has a 24-36 record with a 4.79 ERA.
If Weaver joins the Reds' rotation, he would offer a veteran presence to a young group that's led by Nick Lodolo, Hunter Greene and Graham Ashcraft.

An inning eater at best?
I think it's definitely an enhancement. They've been looking for an experienced pitcher for the middle of the season and it's almost as if Luke Weaver isn't a better option for them...

Reds offense was on display yesterday as they beat the Dirty Birds 10-3 tallying 18 hits! Wouldn't it be nice to do that every game
Ben Lively picks up his 2nd win of the year going 6 strong innings allowing 2 ER and 8 K's. Pretty good outing for a rookie!
Game 4 is today at 12:35 with Luke Weaver (1-2 6.54 ERA) vs Miles Mikolas (2-1 4.77 ERA). Let's get a series win to end the homestand!
