MARLINS @ REDS

Post by TrojanXplosion »

The Reds welcome the NL East leading Marlins to the Queen City tonight. The Marlins are winners of seven in a row. Tonight starts up a four game stand. I look for the Reds to get off to a good start tonight with the ace, Aaron Harang on the mound. Harang has pitched very well this year but, the Reds fail to score any runs when he starts. Hopefully that trend will not continue tonight. Although the Marlins are in first place, they are very young and a very beatable team. It would really be nice to get a sweep. Hopefully Keppinger continues his masterful hitting ways, and the Reds come out on the smiling side of the scoreboard tonight.

Good win for the Reds. With Volquez on the mound tonight hopefully the winning ways continue.

Reds win 2 in a row and 3 out of the last 4.

Unfortunately, Keppinger is out indefinately with a knee injury.

Arroyo did well tonight. Pitched 7 innings with no runs.

Going into the 9th, Reds were up 6-0. It's now tied at 6-6.

Reds win 7-6.

Not that you like to see it end this close, but Paul Janish, the shortstop called up to replace Keppinger, drove in the game winning run, which was his first hit and RBI in the majors.

Even though Arroyo didn't pick up the win last night, it was REALLY nice to see him have a good outing. I thought he was done after giving up 7 runs in the first inning to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. I will be the first to admit that I wanted him out. But, it looks like he is coming out of the slump. Hopefully he and the Reds can continue to play winning baseball.

It figures that when it looks like the Reds are getting on a roll, tonight's game is cancelled due to rain. They'll look to reschedule it later in the season.

Great story last night for that young kid that got the game winning hit.
