The (un)Official Browns Next Coach Poll

Post by dazed&confused »

So who's it going to be? There will be another coach next year. I have no doubt after last Sunday!

bill cowher was a steeler and a brown. i think he's ready again to be that guy.
nick saban ain't leavin alabama , for the instability of the nfl. he makes more now.
and i figure has no intention of uprooting his family
only way is , in my opinion, if his ego gets involved and he wants to take this on.

gruden is an ohio guy. being a bengals fan, i'd like to see it be gruden.

peyton may be so put out with the saints , that he decides to move.
but he spends all year in a dome, it's a whole lot different in cleveland.

josh mcdaniels, i think is still reeling after the denver scene. but i look for him to be a head coach again.

The Sabin idea is being pushed around some. He sure was on a great Cleveland Browns Staff before they fired everyone and moved to Baltimore. Some are saying if his buddy gets the GM it may interest him in unfinished business. He has it made in Alabama for life as long as he doesn't screw up. But with Sabin you never know.

Cowher I am not sure he wants the grind of being a coach again. He enjoys spending time with his family after the loss of his wife. With grandkids not to far off that may keep him away from coaching.

Gruden to me has it made without all the stress of coaching. With all he does at ESPN. But his brother maybe an interesting choice.

Peyton the new owner would not want to touch him after all the Bounty Gate stuff.

McDaniels not after his flop in Denver.

Maybe the owner has an idea of someone like Mike Tomlin who was not highly thought of being a head coach??? I think he already has an idea of what direction he wants the Browns to go.

I think Pat Shurmur needs to stay. I think Tom Heckert and Dick Jauron need to stay. Give this team something it hasn't had in a while - a third year together.

With that said, new management and all, it's hard to say what will happen from here on out.

Eric Mangini is available.

STO reported yesterday its sources have the top target as Saban then Chip Kelley and Josh McDaniel's. If it was them 3 I would guess McDaniel's because Saban stays put at Bama and Kelley would want too much control

Wasn't there a report out there about Saban's wife saying something about her husband at Alabama giving you a feeling he might be interested in leaving? Thought ESPN had it out.

I THINK TRESSEL WOULD BE AN AWESOME SELECTION MYSELF. BUT I'D RATHER HAVE HIM COACHING MY BENGALS.

I know I'll get flayed but I'd bring in Marty Schottenheimer and his son. Great connections to the past, stabilizing force and his son can assume when Marty gets the ship right.

I heard his wife wants him to stay put,but Urban Meyer's wife was saying the same thing before he accepted the OSU job,so that wife stuff don't mean much.I heard Haslem was willing to throw the moon at him to get him.

Doesn't Urban Meyer have a heart condition though? I heard that's why his wife was a little against him taking the OSU job. She was worried about his health going down hill again from all the pressure.

Wow, lot's of coaches hit the bricks today! I'm a little surprised at the number of them that are walking the streets. Of course, that means there are many vacancies and many teams competing with the Browns for candidates. In view of what has transpired and the lilkelyhood of who the Browns can attaract, I'd make the following choice if it were me (being realisitc). I'd see if Lovey Smith would be interested in the head coach postion and bring in Norv Turner as his OC.
