IHS wins the last 3 State Championships with a Snow and Clark like talent. There is D1 talent and then there is talent that is different.

IHS didn’t have Snow talent, but IHS also was not playing D3 teams. With 5-6 D1 athletes, against a team whose best player is playing at John Carrol, Ironton still should have dominated. Instead they were dominated.

So back to my question: how much D1 talent does it take for Ironton to win a state title against teams with no D1 talent?

I’ve seen the Ironton fan comments on this site. Basically state that none of these kids could ever land a football scholarship without the help of Ironton and Pendleton.

I can already see the posts from Ironton fans if Pittman chooses UK: “Ironton developed this kid, and Pendleton made it happen”. LOL!!

I am convinced you wake up extra early and stay up late just hate all the time. I’ve seen numerous posts from you complaining so much abt a team that isn’t even yours. Clearly whatever you say isn’t going to change anyone’s perspective when everyone has their mind made up

With that kind of skill, Ironton doesn’t need much out of the line. We’re talking D5 football!!

That said, these other D5 schools aren’t sending their lineman to D1 colleges. Ironton linemen are getting scholarship offers that Kirtland and South Range linemen are not.

I’ve never seen a program in this area have such a hold on other teams fans. The Ironton football program lives in your head. You guys may want to to go to one of those rehabs that have taken over Scioto County. I’m sure they can help you with your issues.

I can respect that. And I will have to say as a Ironton fan we have let things get out of hand here with the football program, but I don’t nor should anyone blame the kids. This falls on the adults running and overseeing the program itself. I will always root for the kids and the Ironton Fighting Tigers.
