WK 8 - Shadyside (1-6) @ Bellaire (3-4)

Post by carbon_dated »

After not playing for 53 years, renewed series in 2013 and Shadyside won first six times easily.
Big Reds have won last three by 12-6, 20-13 and 13-12.
This one is Saturday afternoon at Bellaire. Both need a win but Big Reds need to keep winning to get home field in playoffs.

Shadyside's starting QB hurt against River.

Shadyside had at least 3 kids knocked out of the game. The QB didn’t return. I think his replacement, who I think was their RB, exited late. 7 was hurt multiple times. I think it was 16 that appeared to be injured significantly.

The score wasn’t that bad, but they got beat up.

Bellaire could win out and be the 3 seed in the region at 6-4

I seriously doubt Bellaire wins out . Even though at home Bellaire will lose to U L . Bellaire will have no problem with Shadyside. Actually Shadyside lost their starting RB game one at Ferry ( Osman ) not sure if he has returned.

UL Vs Bellaire is a toss up.

UL was awful on defense Vs Cambridge

Bellaire can’t stop the run, in their four losses they have given up 1,350 rushing yards, U L will run all night , unabated. The Bellaire Offense is inconsistent and impotent. Maybe the game could be a toss up but Bellaire needs to play a perfect game and their best to date is just mediocre.

UL also isn’t anything special. I’ll stick with it being a toss up.

It was actually 63 years before they renewed the series in 2013. Bellaire dominated the early years leading to the suspension of the series after the 1950 game.

Sadly this Monday Ray Rays father passed away while at work . Personally I doubt he or his brother Mac Mac play . Bellaire will be out five starters if the Pettigrew’s do not play , all skill players . My understanding from buddies Shadyside will be out several, possibly their QB. Again , personally I see Bellaire passing a bit more , five receivers remain, possibly one can go to rb or the fb can get the carries . This may be nothing more than a glorified J V game .
