Are there any Fort Frye graduates playing football at the college level?

Looks like they're NCAA Division II. Is he the only one you know of?

Since there aren't any Linsly fans on a Southeastern Ohio site . . . I understand that not everybody goes to college or wants to play football on the next level, but I think it's worth noting that Fort Frye is putting this run of seasons together without a lot of NCAA recruits. I know they work hard all year-round, but I don't know what else is separating them from the rest of Southeast Ohio, because the talent at other schools is about the same level as at Fort Frye.

Coaching
Can't just say it's coaching. The athletes that have come through ff football in the last 6 to 8 years have been exceptional. Having 8 to 10 seniors a year, a good Jr high and little league program has helped the varsity to their success. Eric is by far the best coach in the area, but he also has had close to if not the best talent in the area as well. A program is built by having buy in from little league on up. The school has to buy in as well as the community. Ff and Waterford are both lucky in that respect across multiple sports. Success is bred and earned, but can only go as far as the talent you have. We have been on an extraordinary run of talent, let's hope it stays that way

I am not disrespecting any coach but take Huck and his staff groom fort Frye and in a couple years the program goes back to average the fort has always had good athletes but not always on the football field , same as girl’s basketball at Waterford with out close in a few years it would be an average program

This isn’t talked about enough. You can have the best coach, staff, and whatever else, but if you don’t have the Jimmies and the Joes, nothing else matters. Just look at the running back and O Line positions at FF.

With Coach Huck being at FF for as long as he has it makes since that the recent run of football players are extremely talented; the recent kids would have played in his program since they began playing football in biddy league.

Many coaches want to win but few are willing to commit to the youth program and be patient in their development; to build a great program like FF has, the youth program MUST to develop players.

It appears Coach Huck and his staff have done quite well in developing their program from bottom to top.

Agree. Eric is the best around. I think ff would still be successful, but probably not as much. Also depends on who the successor is. It's definitely a combo of coach and community. Send eric and staff to somewhere like marietta and it may not work.

The kids believe in Eric, so they put in the work to become the players they are.

You could put a lot of Southeastern Ohio coaches on Fort Frye's sideline right now and go 10-0, but in 4 years Fort Frye would be just another team.
