That Tigers Team is something else, going to be fun to watch the next few years.
That group of boys dominate at every sport. They are special

Wonder how they'd do against the grade they started in...? #earlyredshirt

The same! They dominated regardless

Wonder how they’d do at the school they are all originally from!?
I wonder if these other ovc teams could get a win if they spent less time whining about Ironton & more time working on getting better?

Facts! They love complaining! It goes from transfers to now where you were conceived i guess! All those kids have been at Ironton since Little League. Maybe these other schools should work on developing better athletes instead of running kids off. Ironton always separated the talent and made teams of 13-14 kids that could compete. Teams like RH and CG would rather have 32 kids on a team instead of splitting up the talent and getting all their kids playing time. Thats why when Ironton kids get to middle school they dominate these other ovc teams that beat them in LL. These other coaches would rather keep all their talent on one team and have better odds of winning. Then they wonder why 20 kids standing on a sideline go somewhere else to play in LL. Kids that dominate LL usually don’t dominate in High School. Some do but most don’t. Kids that have stood on the sideline at RH have came to Ironton and started in LL and even highschool level. So something doesn’t add up. Glad for the kids it has worked out for over the years though! Keep running off your talent!

I still think the "Pre K" and "Pre 1st" are big advantages for the schools doing it. Obviously transfers are what they are. Think of the teams Green would have if they hadn't lost players to Burg, Ironton and Rock Hill. But at he same time you have to have program to make them stay.

But your point on this 100% correct. I spoke to a Burg Guy one day and he was explaining to me how Burg does everything "In House" that they have Multiple Kids learning to go play QB, Learning to Play RBs, Wrs, OLine and so on.
Then when they get to Middle School The competition is there and when an injury happens there's another kid with experience ready to step right in. Maybe he's not the better athlete but he will have a working knowledge of how to play the position.
Unfortunately too many teams are more concerned with winning now and instead of getting them ALL ready for the next level.

Hmmm... well, I know of 2 starters off the top of my head that transferred to ironton.. an the only facts I was talkin about is the fact that there isn't one consequential player on that team that hasn't been held back... and my problem isn't with the redsirts..or the redshirting...I feel like you should give a kid all rhe advantages you can... in turn opening as many opportunities as possible..... the problem is with delusional people who act like it doesnt matter competively... that bein the oldest, most physically mature, best mustachioed player has no advantage... if not, then why do it...? I mean, sure, the driving when you're in 9th grade may be cool... but there really ain't too many advantages of bein a 20 year old h.s. senior... Lol.

7th Logan 22- WCH 0
8th WCH 20 Logan 12

Logan 8th grade qb looks like he could be tough in the future ! throws a good ball and can run. Looks like they are struggling to run the offense not much size either on the line. Also have a good wr on 8th grade team

Best move the parents could make for those kids and i think its 3 not 2. Two came a couple years ago and the other this year. Id say every team in the ovc has some hold backs. They will work harder at Ironton. Not everyone of them were held back, you can assume that. Its not true though. There can be a huge advantage in a years difference. All depends on what the kid does work wise and how much he grows. These kids would dominate as freshman either way. Most were held back in like 3rd grade because of grades, had nothing to do with sports. This group of boys dominated all sports thru LL. They play RH tomorrow at 6pm at Tanks memorial stadium.

Dang man just come across this, "MOST" were held back because of grades?? Sounds like to me the Ironton school system is failing a lot of these boys and maybe someone needs to step in and take a look at the academic problem that is going on. To imply a large amount have been held back and it was because of grades, I mean especially in 3rd grade?? I've got kids, nieces, nephews and coached for years and I can probably count on 3 fingers how many kids I know of being held back in 3rd grade because the grades didn't cut it. Not a good look for Ironton school system, heck I would've much rather you said, "yeah they got held back for sports", that I get and I understand.

Why does every thread turn into people complaining about what Ironton is or isn't doing? I you want to discuss these claims go start a new thread.

Was very impressed when I watched him play. One of the better middle school QBs I've seen in awhile. Made some great throws on the move and extended the play several times. He should develop into a solid player!

Could of been that silly 3rd grade reading proficiency test the kids were taking and if they didn’t pass it they got held back. 3rd grade guarantee reading test. I guess it’s still being done.
