Not sure. But I’m taking west by a large margin here. Maybe 35-7?

It's important for west to get off to a good start this year and I think they do in this one. Senators by a few td's.

I watched Valley scrimmage ND last week so this one is interesting to me. ND had great numbers and some good looking athletes. I feel like West lost quite a bit last season, but they always have extremely tough kids. This might be a pretty competitive game. Not something you would have said much in the last 20 years.

Agreed. ND played without their starting QB all of last season due to injury. ND has some real good athletes at skill positions, but believe West will have the size advantage in the trenches. Could very easily see ND hanging around before West wears them down in second half and wins by a couple of scores. I'll say West 27-13.*

Good luck to Coach Ashley and the Titans this fall! Hope ND can utilize the seating capacity of Spartan Stadium to their advantage when it comes to letting fans in.

Actually this is the type of game you want to play with the COVID restrictions. You only have to travel a few miles and this year, you don't have to worry about computer points.

Why did Notre Dame schedule this game
Notre Dame's fortunes reversed when the switch was made from a 10-game to a 6-game regular season. Went from a very realistic chance of starting out 4-0 to now likely starting 0-2 as they play Northwest the following week now.

Originally had Grove City Christian, Fairfield Christian, Fisher Cath. and Fayetteville. Pandemic and the ensuing schedule change caused their opponents to cancel on them.

That said, maybe ND has a shot in this one. Their numbers look good, from what’s being said on here.

I’ll take west. West ran down Portsmouth throat the 1st quarter of the scrimmage and took a quick 7-0 lead. Then west starting passing and Portsmouth pass game was Really good and varsity won 21-7. Not sure what notre dame has on defense but west will run the ball a lot. I hope notre dame improves they have a lot of kids this year.

28-7. West should’ve won this game by 5/6 touchdowns. They proved they are a great team but had 3 touchdowns called back due to penalties. Other than the first play TD, I’m not sure the Titans has another first down.

To call them a great team is quite a stretch, they'll be improved this year and tough to handle over the next few years. This game went exactly like it should've went, but the fact they held a team to 1 first down and only scored 28 should be a concern. Week 2 will tell the area exactly what West has this year.

No West isn't a great team yet. They are probably the youngest team in the area. They are gonna make mistakes. Some of the penalties looked a little schetchy, but they took touchdowns off the board and stopped drives. That has to be corrected and alot will with experience. Lots of freshmen and sophomores on the field getting their feet wet. Of the 4 touchdowns last night, 2 were freshmen and 2 were sophomores.

West's pass blocking was a little suspect last night. Granted ND had some pretty good athletes both in the so called "skilled positions" and the O/D lines, but it seemed like Irwin was having to release from his drops and roll out quickly nearly every pass play. Possibly a tweaking will help that, but as was stated earlier, next week will tell.

Yeah, I wouldn’t take too much out of this one for West for what’s coming against Waverly. Box score says ND did not attempt one pass last night?!? I guarantee Waverly going to put it up in the air the entire game.

With that being said, credit to ND for not getting a running clock put on them (they should win a few games this year) and credit to West for taking care of business*

West started 4 seniors and one junior on offense.

Usually had 4 seniors and 1 junior on defense. Their will be JV teams with that many upperclassmen. They are doing well.

Notre Dame if healthy could win agains Northwest. They supposedly did well in their scrimmage at Valley. On the sports line yesterday their coach made it sound like they got pretty beat up as the game went along Friday

ND has the size, speed and athletes to beat Northwest. Do I think they will, no. Notre Dame did well against Valley because they passed the ball. Against West they beat a dead horse offensively and never made any adjustments.
I really wouldn't say ND got beat up with injuries as was alluded to. Rather it was a matter of the team being out of shape and not prepared. End of the 1st all were sucking air and several down cramping which continued throughout. Pretty tired of the same excuses out of the ND camp. Like watching Groundhog Day, young team, low numbers, injuries. Can't be young every year; ND hasn't had 31 players in years, same as what they averaged in the 80"s and won championships year in and year out. Injuries, cramps, etc come from lack of conditioning. When a staff touts itself as the best coaching staff around, at a sports banquet and in the locker room, but has only won 5 games since 2017, there's a problem.
