OHSFCA said they did not make a proposal. All rumors. The statement is also on the OHSFCA twitter.

If somebody knows how to paste it on here do it because I can't figure it out.
Both things can be true. A “group of coaches” representing themselves and what they see as the interest of kids could have certainly proposed something without the backing or official adoption by the OHSFCA - the report that I saw was that the group of coaches brought it to the OHSFCA; the denial is that the OHSFCA proposed it to the OHSAA. I’m positive there are coaches out there who know fall football isn’t going to happen and are thinking of ways to make football happen in some way this school year, whether everyone has bought in yet or not. They can move forward for now and keep the focus on an August start publicly, but do you think when it gets called off there won’t be any discussion of how to make it happen later?

So what are you doing with baseball at that point?
Exactly, are you just sacrificing spring sports and those athletes for two seasons? That would just not be right.
Agreed

The coaches statement is a hoax. Tom Pavlansky is the OHSFCA President and my neighbor. The OHSFCA has released a statement downplaying the announcement. They continue to work with the OHSAA. The hoax statement came from a disgruntled group of coaches from the Central District. The handwriting is on the wall. The season probably won’t start and if by chance it does, it will be shutdown as teams experience virus outbreaks, cancelling games and making the season impossible to do.

Reality forced some coaches to make fools of themselves.

Twitter personality Jordan Strack has been one person pushing this. I know some Northwest district coaches want this. Football in the spring sacrifices to many things.

If they’re even THINKING of switching spring/fall sports, they better make that announcement soon so that baseball, softball, and track coaches can start conditioning their athletes properly.

There is not going to be a switch. What are they going to do screw spring sports twice in 6 months?

The alternative is the OHSAA goes bankrupt.

They won't go bankrupt. They may have to lay almost everyone off for the year but they will survive.

If they have to back the season up a month. Play 5 games. Everybody makes the playoffs which would only take an extra week or two. Teams that get beat out can play other teams that get beat out for couple more games. State Championship in early December.

Just as a point of information, Virginia which had previously cancelled high school football for 2020 has announced a plan allowing for a condensed fall sports season during the spring of 2021:

Members of the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Executive Committee voted Monday morning to approve a new model for Virginia high school sports for the upcoming school year.

During their morning Zoom call on Monday, July 27, members of the committee voted to approve Model 3 for the reopening for sports and activities for the 2020-2021 school year.

According to officials, this model involves delaying all VHSL sports and adopt the Condensed Interscholastic Plan, which would leave all sports in the season where they are currently aligned for 2020-2021:

Winter season: Dec. 14 to Feb. 20, with the first contest date set for Dec. 28

Fall season: Feb. 15 to May 1, with the first contest date set for March 1

Spring season: April 12 to June 26, with the first contest date set for April 26

Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Stupid. Small schools can't do that. So much for multi-sport athletes.

Are you really that stupid that you don’t realize numbers are going up because of more testing..I’ve seen a couple testing sites and it looks like people waiting in a cheese line hoping they test positive to get some $$ lol..the same person could actually be counted as 3 or more positives if they test that way each time..my wife has seen it at nursing home she works..it’s crazy and very laughable...these numbers are so far off..maybe this new stimulus will make enough people happy so this will start going away

It’s absolutely true, many who test positive have to repeat a test over and over until they test negative so they can return to work. So one person could account for two or even more “positive cases”. Fact.

Nah.........they got it played better than that.......Once you test positive......they will check again but only count as one because of your information and who you are from the first test.............it's kept on record........Now if you go for awhile and don't die from it from the first test and get over it.......and catch it again........which is possible.........you will be a head count again........I also have family in the medical field......Bunch of false statements that shouldn't be posted.......

Football has a real low chance of happening this year......fact......Too many variables for schools to deal with.......

I know what I said is true... Believe what you want, I could really care less but I could also say your statement is false. So stop spreading false statements.

Don’t be stupid. They keep records. You can test over and over but only count as one. Only after a time gap beyond quarantine will another test count as two.

Sometimes I wonder about the effectiveness of education. It obviously is lacking these days in SEO.

And SEO is screaming and demanding schools to reopen for childcare. SEO for the most part doesn’t think it’s a real thing.
