Monroe has hit one huge dry spell. They schools numbers have drastically dropped over 10 years. Jay retired so that’s a big blow. Last year they had like 25 players and 10 Srs.

They did finish the season on a big win streak but they lost to Fort Frye 36-0 and had like 50 yards in that game.

Coach Circosta was head coach at Woodsfield-Monroe Central for 47 years and finished with a record of 336-148-5.
Someone out there should let Steely Dan know the nice write- up on his Coach is in today's Marietta Times paper.
I don't think Dan is on here very often this time of year.

It is official, as of a few days ago. Here's a really nice tribute to JC. Good God, I've know him, and his wife for 51 years now, WOW. Always enjoy talking to them when I can, last time was about a year ago at the bank in Woodsfield, and he told me then he should have retired. I'm glad he did not, he coached one Hell of a season to come up with a 6-4 record with just a bunch of scrappers. Things ain't what they used to be in Woodsfield in terms of numbers or talent, so, it was great to see JC walk away a winner. Coach Schuerman, who stepped away a couple of years ago after nearly 30 years, is a dear, close friend and told me when he was done, I just don't know how Jay does it. People have no idea how hard he works and how much time he spends in the off season preparing. That statement right there encompasses why Chief Jay has enjoyed the success that he's accomplished. Nice hire!
Should be a good matchup week one when two new head coaches, Josh at MC, and Bernie Thompson at Union Local, face off. UL has the upper-hand in the series, only having lost one matchup since it started. UL lost a ton on both sides of the ball. Probably a coin-toss!

Will these guys slowly start working their way back to were they were, not so long ago?
How did the JV team fare last season?

Did they even have a JV team? I think they only had 23 players.LICKING COUNTY FAN wrote: ↑Sun Jun 03, 2018 2:30 pm Will these guys slowly start working their way back to were they were, not so long ago?

Probably good then that MC opens with UL.
UL should be down big time from last year. Does not return a single player on the OL/DL, lost three receivers, starting TE, and two running backs, but does return a nice QB!
Hopefully the community rallies around new HC! Program has too much pride to just dwindle away!

Any thoughts Beallsville returns to the schedule in a year or two?
