Week 3: Portsmouth West @ Coal Grove

Post by linedrive »

Both teams are 0-2 to start the season. Who winds up in the win column?

I think Coal Grove wins this. They are very physical and didn't look bad

I thought CG looked very physical too. I don't know what to think about West. I'm surprised like many others tonight.

Up until the forth quarter it was a heck of a ball game against Valley. Coal Grove just couldn't capitalize.

West hasn't been able to defend the pass in Week 1 or 2 against the spread. Run defense against the traditional 2 or 3 back sets hasn't been bad. This could be a really good game.

An old timer and long West fan told me over this weekend that "West is weak up front and may not win a game".

I think Wellston and Fairland should be fairly easy wins, outside of that West may really struggle this year if they dont turn it around.

These guys work hard and are strong in the weight room, but West hasn't had a big team since 2012.

Coal Grove has been playing pretty good football we just have to limit the mistakes. I feel this is a winnable game for the Grove if they don't shoot themselves in the foot with costly turnovers.

Not to hijack the thread, but you may want to slow your roll on the Wellston should be a fairly easy win comment.

Sorry.....but Wellston is not a relevant program right now. A win over a hapless 0-2 Huntington teams doesn't exactly jump off the paper and make them a tough team this year.

If they lose these first 3 plus playing minford burg and valley... Ruh Roh season for sure. Didn't think they'd struggle this much. Sounds like most expect grove to win. On road makes it tough too.

Wellston will be ready. I don't think Fairland will be an easy win either. Time will tell.

And I don't see an 0-2 west team as relevant
