I think it will be a close game. I think Zanesville will show up and play defense so I'm going with Zanesville by 12.

The way Zanesville played against Newark... I think Athens can win this game. If Athens is health on Offense their passing game will be too much for Zanesville. A few times Zanesville knew what was coming on the pass and still was burnt.

Is Newark a lot better? Last few years they have been bad and Zanesville should have lost

Newark has been playing better ball the last few years. There for awhile the program was at the bottom. They looked good against Zanesville from the 1stQ on. Running game didn't look the greatest. Their passing game sort of threw Zanesville off. In the last part of the 3rd and a lot of the 4th Zanesville's defense looked really tired. With Newark not doing too much late I think Zanesville picked up their 2nd wind going into the OT.

Newark's freshman team went 9-1 last year against pretty good competition so the program must be getting better. This should be a pretty good game if the Dogs can get any defense going.

Zanesville is going to be hard to call this year. Dover, New Philly, Tri-Valley & Sheridan are all on the schedule this year. They still have some athletes ( speed & power) and Newark has some players ( Shackleford , WR from last years team may start as a true Frosh for YSU against Pitt this week). The Devils should have a good run game and just like Logan, they may well control the trenches against the pups with tough OL. Athens is down this year and playing their weak schedule in the TVC may come back to bite them. I'd say toss up game with a Blue Devil win not surprising.

I like Athens in this one. They can put some points up on the board. Their running back runs hard. How bad was the QB's injury?

Yes Raider it is a Deep bone bruise to the shin. Anyone that has had a bone bruise knows they are very painful. you will think its broken.
they were concerned about it at the game but turned out to be bruised. GO DOGS

Glad he is fine , But one hit to that area will cause a lot of pain and limit his mobility!
