This game is at Alexander so it will probably be closer than otherwise.

Well if that is the case they should be embarrassed every year when N-Y puts a spanking on them. Davey showed once again that he wont be out coached by Arny.

Wellston wins against Alex. but, not by much. Then runs into a buzz saw week 10 at VC and loses. Another 4-6 season for the Rockets. Then some of the Wellston faithful will begin to call for a new regime. Not saying I agree or disagree with that sentiment. I just know how people are and how they think around town. The "Winds of Change" may be blowing soon in Wellston. JMO.

"Buzz saw",.. Wow. Ill be very surprised if they dont win out. A 5-5 record is not what anyone wants, but with a squad of mostly freshman and sophmores is the not really disappointing.

Wellston will win this one once again on a muddy field. The kids will play hard but I know from talking to most of the alex players they really dont like their head coach.

I would hope that not liking there coach would not determine whether or not
They play hard in a football game. Like him or hate him you have got to play with some pride
Suck it up and win for the team.... Not the coach.

Is it true that most of Wellston's staff is working on a volunteer basis? What the heck is up with that, the coaches and kids deserve to have some money put into the Rocket program. Its tough to turn things around without support from above

I have heard similar things. I think they need to go back to playing teams like Eastern, and Huntington like back when they were winning. Maybe pick up Waterford, and the two teams Waterford beat this year too. This would be a good non league schedule for Alexander next year.

Miller
Eastern
Waterford
Green

I think they would have a chance in those games, and could provide playoff points for the rest of the Ohio division.

Wellston pays the varsity head coach and one varsity assistant and two middle school coaches and that's it.
