This will be the 80th meeting between these river rivals. GAHS leads the all-time series with a 40-34-5 mark with 10 straight wins over the West Virginians. That streak may end Friday as the 4-0 Big Blacks are averaging 50.1 ppg and giving up only 5.5 GAHS is averaging 23.8 ppg and giving up 27.5 with a 2-2 mark.

This one will get unpretty for the blue team in a hurry.
PPHS is currently ranked #6 in AAA, and have out scored their opponents 207-22 thus far.

Point - 56
Gallia - 28

Being one of the top teams in WV doesn't always translate to success against teams from Ohio but this not even an average GAHS team. Pt. Pleasant will win easily.

The Blue will struggle the remainder of the season... I see 4 losses for sure and the possibility of 6... This years seniors have suffered through Three different coaching staffs. Not a good thing for rebuilding a program. Anyone know the results of this weekend 7th and 8th grade games at Wheelersburg?

If Blue devils were healthy they would have a hard time keeping this game competitive. as banged up as they are i can't even begin to predict a final score. I can picture Gallia Academy having to play freshmen and young sophomores in the first half of this game. If the blue devils sat all their players that needed to sit out week to heel up there would not be much left. This team is feeling the effects of last years staff not buying in to a huge lifting program. the 3 months of lifting this summer didn't build them up enough to fight off these injuries.

Thanks Double, expected a loss, but not this bad..... Do they have a running clock in junior high once the game gets out of hand?

Not doubting you KV, but if they lifted 3 months doing the summer wouldn't that be the whole summer? Please explain....

Well what i am saying is even last year. This team did not lift weights after like week 1 of season and effects of that showed as year went on. Normally after football season. Around Christmas kids not playing other sports would go back to lifting. They did not start until almost the time the coach decided to take another job. Then you had time for the staff to turn over and someone else to be in charge of that. so there was really not a lot of lifting done by anyone until school was out. in past years even kids playing other sports went and did football lifting at least a couple of days a week after there other sports practice.

So in the past what was almost year round lifting was stopped for 6 to 9 months. Plus the kind of lifting done under other staff was different it was more about speed and flexibility then strength. Almost every nagging injury we have that i know of are shoulder injuries. We did not have a lot of these for several years because of the time spent on strength in conditioning we did have them in coach Eddy's first year until his strength and conditioning program really took effect.

It is hard to play defense when half of your defense needs to come off the field after every tackle they make until the pain in there shoulder subsides a little bit. Or that you basically don't try to run any plays to one side of your offense because a lineman's shoulder problems limits what blocking techniques he can effectively do.

Like a former GAHS coach said recently, you can work out 7 days a week, 30 or 31 days a month but unless you have some talented athletes, wins will be hard to come by.
GAHS had its share of talented athletes the past few years.

I see your point KV...But when you hire a coach that everyone knows wont be around very long, this is what happens.. If our numbers are down and we have to play freshmen to field a varsity team because of injuries, why are we playing a JV game on Mondays.. This could lead to more injuries and smaller numbers for Fridays.. Just sounds like the whole program is in a downward spiral which is going to be hard to reverse...
