Nelsonville-York Football 2011

Post by NYBuckeye96 »

Has the 2011 schedule been finalized yet?

Trimble, Newark Catholic and I believe Berne Union are back on the non-league schedule for weeks 1-3.

Has Week 4 been scheduled yet?

Is the NY vs. Logan game in Week 5 a done deal at this point? If so, who is the home team in 2011?

I think BU is gone and we are playing Amamnda Clearcreek.

As far as I know. We have Trimble, NC, Amamnda Clearcreek, Logan. We still have 1 open date to fill.

How about Ridgewood? I think they have an open date next year because of Conotton Valley dropping out of the IVC. The only problem is I think it is late in the season when NY would be in the middle of their league schedule, and would be over 1.5 hours of travel time for either school. I think this would be a good matchup for both schools.

Amanda Clearcreek is a nice addition too. Many of those MSL schools aren't any farther of a drive than some of the TVC schools, you just drive in the opposite direction.

NY should have another outstanding team next season. Most of this years players were juniors who have been playing varsity for 2-3 years already. Lots of senior experience on the 2011 Buckeye team. They'll be looking to make a statement.

It will be interesting to see who NY plays in Week 4. I would almost think NY would need a "break" from that tough non-league schedule, like Berne Union was this season. It's almost like the league games are the "break" in the schedule.

What's it going to take for NY to dominate outside of the TVC like in the 80s and 90s?

Ny has to keep scheduling tough non-league teams. They also have to get that mentality back that just making the playoffs isn't good enough.

7 or 8 on each side of the ball, plus some kids who got a lot of playing time but didn't start.

There should be some good competition for the open spots.

Biggest prob for NY will be filling PeeWee's shoes on offense and defense. I don't thing NY has any power runners comming up and definately doesn't have any linebackers with any size anywhere to be found. They have a lot of talent coming back, as long as we can shore up the d line and linebackers we should be ok there. Offensively, we really need to find some power somewhere to take some of the load from our shifty tailback, don't know who will fill that slot. I think we will eventually find it somewhere, just not sure about it for next year. I'm looking at best a 8-2, 7-3 season lacking size.

N-Y not only wants to win the league, but wants to make deep playoff advances with that schedule. Weak league, so you have no other choice but to make a tough non-league schedule to be competitive in the playoffs.

But if u know u have a good squad, and a weak league, play one good non league squad and be ready for the playoffs. ACC is a great game to get to know where ur team is! That would be a great choice for anyone in SOC2 also!

BU is still on the schedule. Have not heard anything about ACC. I don't see that being true. With NC and Logan now on the schedule I just cant see ACC also.
