I know that Fed Hock had to drop Athens from the schedule due to schedule conflicts with the new TVC Hocking schedule.

Well, I guess I don't have an opinion, so obviously, I don't have anything to say. And I don't believe that many, if any (other than you, maybe), think that whompascat and I are the same prepster. I assure you, we are different people.

IMO, The main problem last year was chemistry. The team just didn't gel until the end of the year and it was too late by then. You could hear players arguing with each other on the field during a play. Part of this could have been the brutal schedule they started off with. Nothing helps the players get together like winning a few games and getting off on the right foot. If I am not mistaken, it was week 5 or 6 before they played a team that had even lost a game. There will be some key losses from last years team but also some very good returning players. I was able to catch a couple J.V. games and saw some great talent down there that will move up and and help at the varsity level next year. I think the biggest question mark going into next season will be the line. We all know a team can only go as far as it's line will take it. You can have all the great skill position players in you want, but if the line is weak you go nowhere. I think the linemen will hit the weights and be prepared for a run at the TVC Hocking crown next year.

Don't take this as a knock on your line coach, cause I have no idea who that even is. But just as a statement in general for any team, when it comes to the offensive line I think way too much emphasis is put on what the players themselves do. You can have the hardest working, toughest and most athletic kids around but if they are not coached well in a system that is fundamentally sound they are not going to do very well agains good defenses. I have seen it for years at certain schools, and it can't always be the players who are to blame.

I agree with you. This is a team sport and each player must play as one unit. I also am not knocking any coach or player, but each player must give their full effort as part of the team strategy. A coach must get the attention of the players and get them to buy in to what they are teaching. I am not sure what is in store for the coaching staff next year but hope everyone settles in soon and encourages the players to get in the weight room. Preparation for week 1 next year begins today.

No way Trimble scores 30 on us with the new defense. You boys can hoot an hollar all you want but when the season comes back around you will be quiet as a mouse. If you think we were good in 06 you wait till next season.
