Total domination by the Pirates tonight from the get go. They took the opening kick and marched straight down the field for the first score and never looked back. Portsmouth two scores came after a fumble in the first half by the Pirates that gave them the ball on the 19 and on a long TD pass in the 3rd on the Burgs 2nd team defense. I believe the radio just said the Burg had 450 yards rushing with Shankweiler getting 200 yards on 12 carries and Tyler Lang with 110 on 10 carries. The Trojans couldn't contain on the outside and the Burg ran wild on them in the second quarter getting long TD runs by Shankweiler, Craigmiles, and Lang. Great win by the Pirates after a rough opening game they have reeled off two straight wins and scored 117 points in the past two games.

Great job Pirates and good luck to the Trojans the rest of the season.

I think if u look at the 2nd half of the Ironton game u saw a game Burg team that was rededicated to TEAM effort instead of ME effort. And it shows now. I want to congratulate the Pirates on a nice display of BLOCKING, TACKLING, and RUNNING!! THanks guys!!

There cheerleaders could have scored trying to take a knee the way we were playing defense tonite. It just wasn't meant to be. I hold no ill-will for them doing that, they could have hung up 100 if they really wanted to.

Burg only scored 20 points in second half to portsmouth 7
1st team scored first 7 then 14 by the jv team with one coming late in the fourth, no running up the score.

41-7 burg v Ptown at end of half. 2nd stringers mixed in till end of 3rd. SPoint game was whatever burg could do because they came at us big time last year in 2nd half. AND u have to practice the kicking game sometime in a game situation. No problem here burg is always a target and a runnup no matter what. Old story!!
