Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)

Post by Ironman92 »

Jackson 6-0
Ironton 4-2

Jackson's biggest test!

Huge playoff points for the winner.

When was the last time Jackson won at Ironton? Late 70's? 1969 team?

It's time.

This should be a good game with Jackson averaging about 45 points a game, not just the offense scoring you got it coming from all three phases I don't think they will score that much but, not going to pick a winner yet way to early but GO RED!!!!!!!!

Jackson should win this one and they shouldn't hear anything like "if we had are running back it would be a different game."

Jackson by a bunch, although the Tigers defense must have give Alder a pretty good tussle considering the score

Ironton seems to be struggling offensively right now, but they have also played some very solid defenses the last three weeks. Coach Lutz is very good at developing his team over the course of the season, and eventually getting them to perform at their highest level. You can bet that they'll be ready to defend their home turf when the Ironmen come to town next Friday night.

On the other hand, Jackson has been winning impressively, but they can still play much better. Winning at Ironton is something that very few teams do, so Jackson has a great opportunity in front of them. Also, with the lack of help from the schedule, this is basically a must win game as far as the playoffs are concerned for the Ironmen.

It certainly won't be easy, but I do think that Jackson can get the job done. They know what they have to do, but now it's a matter of going to Ironton and actually doing it.

Ironton makes the playoffs at 7-3 with a win over Jackson or Bishop Hartley and winning the last 2 home games (Of course winning both and finishing 8-2 would be better). Don't know if 6-4 will be enough to make it. They need this game.

Drew Pasteur projects that 6-4 almost certainly (99% chance) will get the Fighting Tigers into the playoffs; however, it certainly wouldn't bode well for any kind of success once there.

Ironton is now averaging just over 19 points per game after averaging about 34.5 in the 1st 3 games, having scored 6,6, and 0 most recently. Obviously, point production must improve or we could be looking at very few more wins this season.

Best of luck to I-Town
I say coach Lutz will have them firing on all cylinders for this one.
Ironton over Jackson
