Jackson Iromen 2009
I know they dont have a head coach yet but what do you people think about the up coming players/talent?
Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
the players that are coming up in the program are talented and should do well if they have the right coach, that doesnt play kids only because they are seniors and play the ones who should be out there.
Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
Well I see that Jackson's senior this year are very talented and have alot of heart and alot of seniors need a chance to prove their self. So irish08 who would u have starting for the ironmen this season?
Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
there are some talented seniors this year but last year was a mess, because there were seniors that played that should not have started, they only started because they were seniors.
Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
Yes that is true but upcoming senior ex) Jimmy Brushart has not had a chance to prove himself but has done very well at jv, and he has alot of talent.

Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
How much actual returning VARSITY players are there?
Throw me a list of who is returning from last year's 5-5 team.

Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
Starters returning from last year's team:
Eric Landrum OLB/QB
Ryan Mullins K/WB
Derrik Meredith S/WB
Klay Arthur LB/RB
Nathan Haller LB/FB
Ryan Klingaman DE
Frankie Mapes DT/OT
Ryan Speakman DT/OG
There are a few other guys returning that got some playing time at the varsity level last year, plus Dewey Stepp should be back from injury to contribute at LB/RB. There will be some JV players who will step in to fill some roles as well, but at first glance there aren't too many starters returning. However, a few of the guys mentioned above played both ways.

Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
All very formidable starters and they should be fine players.....but no stars, little size or speed, not much depth so we don't have to play both ways and the QB, who I very much enjoy watching him play, lost out on a lot of QB snaps the past season.
I'll be rooting hard every game I can attend or listen too regardless.
Hope those players and the other contributors get faster and work on football stuff.......video games don't count. lol

Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
im not saying that tyler g. doesnt have talent. im just saying there are more talented players than him, and u have to start your most talented players, and not just because they are seniors.
Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
Irish08 tell me some differences?

Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
In all fairness, you cannot say that two kids are the same kind of football talent based on just numbers.
In football there are intangibles, things the numbers can't tell you.
Two kids may have the exact same bench and forty numbers, but one may be a masher-type stud and the other may not like contact. One could be a playmaker and the other may not even see the field.

Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
so jacksonI you are telling me that t.g has more work ethic, I have been to practices, and games and I just dont see it. so my son was a freshman on the team last year he had at least 6 tackels a game and at least 3 or 4 in a varsity game, so game numbers do not mean a thing. and as far as being a team captain if it is based on numbers there should have been a freshman on there.
Re: Jackson Iromen 2009
The Thing is Irish08 captains isnt based on numbers its based on leaders and i really dont know what youve seen in practices but...yea your right your son isnt bad hes a really hard worker and he'll be good next year and the year after.
