This game is usually close besides the past couple of years but I would say this is the best team SG has fielded since 06. I dont know what East has this year but I would be surprised if this was more than a 14 point win for either team. When SG has went to East it has always been a tough win for the Rebels.

South Gallia moves to 1-0. By all accounts, it should be the best season in quite some time out in Amish country.

I like the way SG is running the read option this year and then going to the power backs. As physical as the backs are they will wear teams out by just tackling them. As soon as SG lines up on offense teams will realize that this isn't the SG teams of old with the different formations.

I say South Gallia rolls in the season opener.

East-21

Anyone know anything about East like who they are returning or how they have faired in scrimmages this year? I refuse to believe that SG will go there and win by 4 scores.

I think the Rebels will win,but score 49 points is not likely! First the defense isn't good enough to get a ton of 3and outs and team speed isn't that great. They score 30 they have had a great game! If they give up 21 it will be a dog fight!
I think 24 -0 is possible. Side note: they have no kicker so they have to go for 2
Something to watch:SG will turn the ball over they had 4 or 5 last weekend.

SG 32 East 12 SG is a very good team with a shot at 8-2 record or better if they play a complete game and stay injury free.
They have size and some speed not great but some just need to stay focused young men and shoot for that playoff bid

This thread is obviously heavy with SG fans, and that's okay. However, as a East fan, who has watched them play in their scrimmages, I can say for a fact that they're far improved over last year's team. They only lost 2 seniors from both starting lineups and have decent size and a lot of speed. So you're really kidding yourself if you think SG will blow them out. You should be more concerned with SG keeping their heads in the game if East scores early. Because when these teams played last year, SG gave up and stopped fighting when East scored early.

Speed can mean trouble for the Rebels as that is something they seem to lack this year but what they lose in speed they have in power as they seem tO have really worked hard in the weight room during the offseason. Believe me, I don't think there is any way SG goes into East and wins easily. If they do win, I don't think it will be by more than two scores and more than likely it will be a one score win if they can pull it out. I don't think SG's offense is built to score quick and often, more like pound you for 6-8 plays and then maybe break a long one.

Who has East scrimmaged this year OSU_Nut?

Something for everyone to think about is the best football team to ever put on an SG uniform, the 06 team, went to East and only won by 4 against a team that I personally thought SG was better than at every position on the field and thought SG should have won by atleast 3 scores. SG won by 4 points. It is never easy for the Rebels to pick up a victory in Sciotoville.
