How many teams will be adding turf in the next couple of yea

Post by Orange and Brown »

I was just wandering what ya'll think of highschool teams using turf instead of grass. I really didn't like it until Nelsonville-York put it on Boston Feild now I think its great. I think it tends to get a bit slippery though.

I knew that they (LOGAN) were getting turf. The new stadiom should be nice. A home game not being played on the hill Top seems weird to me. Doesn't seem right at all.

I remember playing bsaeball at Point. Every inning or 2 we would stop play cause the wind would blow dirt everywhere.
Is it still like that?

We no longer play at Harmon Park, which is where games used to be played at. We have a new baseball field that was built a few years ago and is located behind the high school, where the new complex will be constructed.

The link below has several pictures - one of which is a layout of the new complex.

Pictures are not the greatest quality but that is because they are a picture of a picture.

I think it looks great and the upkeep will save a lot of money in the long run.
When it is really hot outside the turf is like a frying pan though. We had one of our games delayed like an hour until it cooled off. When it gets wet it is really slippery to. :-D

Is Portsmouth still planning on building their new complex?

I can't wait to see the new Logan stadium. It's too bad that NY and Logan no longer play each other, as each team will have two of the premiere facilities in southeastern Ohio, if not the entire state of Ohio. Maybe the two teams could scrimmage each other in the future, so we can utilize each other's outstanding facilities. :)
