Had the pleasure of talking to 4theKids last Friday night in Jackson. She mentioned the old huddle days, and we even talked about how much we liked that terrible 93dog! lol

No way!

NY is athens rival in football.
vc is athens rival in basketball.
Warren is athens non conference rival in hoops.

Logan is 'storied' traditional rival.
Alexander is Athens biggest rival. That's not even a debate

Raider ... are you smoking crack?

The only thing Athens and Alexander have somewhat of a rivalry in is soccer! Maybe a little bit in baseball.

If you took a poll at the high school right now. It's Alexander. The two schools have a lot in common.

Nelsonville won't need Athens' points.

They are going to bank with Trimble & Waverly (and even Minford will win a few more).

It's Athens that needs NY's points. That week 10 game is a must for Athens.

D3, Region 11 is so brutal - I'm not sure even a win week 10 will be good enough.

It needs to be week 10
Just like Nelsonville-York and Trimble should be week 10
I like it...either way Week 1 or 10, sorta like 10 better lol.

Athens has to have a league bye week due to the TVC number of teams right? So they would just have to be granted a permanent Week 10 bye spot by the TVC each year for a non-league game.

Can you imagine that game every year if it came down to a play-off spot or not for Logan or Athens.

Down side of that is that almost every year it seems Week 10 NY and Athens is for a league championship, which probably higher profile game than Logan.
Trimble is Nelsonville-Yorks biggest rival. I know some Athens fans try to say it's them but the hardest hitting game of the season is against Trimble.
We can still beat them to secure the league title week 9 lol
Not all NY fans consider Trimble their biggest rival! But all Trimble fans do consider NY their biggest rival!

Trimble is the super bowl for Nelsonville. It was that way with coach Boston Jr., and even more so now with coach Richards having to face the Trimble fans daily. So I'd say it's the main rivalry for both teams at this point.

I'll make a post to get back on topic . Should be a good game even though on paper Athens has the upper hand this year . I think there will be added pressure on the Bulldogs to end the streak . If Logan takes this one it will be one of the bigger upsets . I like the under dogs . Logan played a pretty good Chilli team last week and showed some improvement. Playing at The Plains will favor Athens . Good luck to both teams with an injury free game.

Well, maybe every sport but football then.

You are on the good side of a 489 point differential and 70 TD advantage since 2000. Not sure that is a rivalry on the gridiron.

Back to the topic though. If Athens doesn't break the streak this year there must be a curse like the Red Sox and Yankees curse of the The Bambino.

We can call it the curse of The Paladino.

Though it may not seem so, this is a pivotal game for both teams. If Logan can find a way to win that could propel them to a 5-5 or 6-4 season. If Athens wins they could very well be sitting at 8-1 going into the NY game and vying for a playoff spot.
