I would not expect to see either Shoemaker or Barnett suit up for Waverly Friday night. Neither participated in the scrimmage this past Friday, so as far as I’ve heard everyone should be good to go that played last week.

Also, just a side thought that I noticed from the scrimmage. The new rule where the refs can’t touch the football at all is terrible. It slows the game down so much and honestly doesn’t make much sense. I know some of the officials were complaining at the scrimmage about how stupid they thought the rule was. The rule could effect teams slightly who look to play up tempo.
So, teams will he slowed down by who? They keep the ball, thus just have to get back to the line
Waverly had no issue getting back to the line, as they as a fast tempo team. However, they still have to wait for the refs to get there with the bean bag to set it so the center can spot the ball.

I can’t imagine the refs liking this rule either as it seems quite dumb. Someone is behind the scenes laughing at all these rules right now!

Totally incorrect on your thoughts about officials not touching the ball slowing the game down. Teams that go uptempo have to wait for the official to set the ball and guy to get out of the way. As 1 ref stated this new rule is a big advantage to those uptempo teams. They'll have the bag already on the ground before players are unpiled, once the center places the ball they can snap immediately. So if teams are conditioned well enough on offense they can wear the defense down quicker as they'll be reacting more.

Agreed. Tonight Waverly will be reminded of the type of beatdowns they suffered while they were in the SEOAL. :o

Waverly was in the SEOAL from 1970-1982. In football the Tigers were pretty much everyone's homecoming opponent.

The 2020 Tigers have the opportunity for a special year with Shanks and company, but Granville presents a challenge in team speed, quickness, and depth Waverly only sees in the playoffs. Tigers can win, but it will take a near perfect effort.

And I think everyone knows that - the best team Waverly will face all year and it comes right out of the gate.
