they are still better than purple. I'm still waiting on the pink Chieftain head to be placed on the helmets ... its seems only fitting they make that change.

It is good to have some fun since there is no school today!!!

Tail between their legs? Haven't heard that ...

A Bulldog holding the regional championship trophy? Now that has been discussed ...

Glad to see Athens holding up a regional championship trophy at Logan. Logan needs to paint up those stadium records Athens has at Logan lo

Heard Logan was painting a chicken on their helmets since they were too chicken to schedule Athens until 2015

Honestly, Athens has way FEWER records at Logan Chieftain Stadium than I expected. Burrow has most attempts (43 vs. Marion Franklin) and most TD passes (5 vs. DeSales). And the AHS/Tri-Valley game was the most combined points.

Heck, Darius Shacklford has that many records and he only played one game at Logan (and lost). (14 receptions, 269 yd, 3 TDs).

But 2015 is an opportunity for the 'Dogs. They haven't beaten Logan since 1995 and have won IN Logan since 1990.

And the Green and Gold Bulldogs only have only 7 wins against 31 losses (2 ties) against the Chieftains.

Locos is that 7-31-2 or how you wrote it 7-29-2?

Either way it is a pretty telling history (history before 2010 or so that is) of this match-up. Not much of a secret Athens has been on a tear from 2009 to present day, 52-10 by Athens is clearly best in the area along with what Trimble has accomplished. 62 games in five years - 12 extra play-off games over five years says something.

Question is as these two teams heat things back up will we see the renewal of 7-31 type of series or will Athens flip the table and bring some of their 52-10 performance to the Chiefs.

Couple questions out there for the Logan and Athens faithful. How long is this series for, is it a Home at Athens, Home at Logan 2 year deal or longer than that? And has the success of Athens brought in any transfers from the area to help sustain what they will lose this year?

I am with moonshine on this until we learn a little more, the 8 month early pick in my mind may be the Chiefs. Pretty athletic LHS senior class in 2015 with some help from the underclassmen should make for a very good game.

It will be interesting to see if there is any changes to the offensive approach by Athens, obviously lost some players, but fact is a lot of the 2nd team got some reps and by sounds of some of the basketball scores (60's-70's-80's) the back-ups put up some points as well so maybe it won't be such a hit as what everyone thinks.

Why would a team hold up a different division trophy or even a 2nd place?

Oh I get it they want to show there was a team in Ohio better than them. :aaaaa8

I believe he said regional championship trophy, which means they were the best in the region - not 2nd.

That 7-31 record against the Chiefs simply underscores the fact that Athens ran from the SEOAL. Their record against many of the other SEOAL teams was also embarrassing. The "latest" record for the bullpuppies was against the weak teams and smaller schools of the TVC. Its would be even more embarrassing if Athens couldn't win against them. Logan should be licking their chops..................

OK ..then why would they hold up a different division trophy when they play Logan and the regional isn't has good as the overall 2nd state wide

and they never even played Logan

Athens absolutely dominated BOTH the TVC and SEOAL the last four years. You keep forgetting the TVC had only 6 schools, that's only 5 games. The other 5 were mostly against the SEOAL.

2011 jackson seoal beat Athens TVC in the playoffs
2012 gallia academy seoal beat Athens TVC
2013 Athens (TVC) never played Logan seoal ...
2014 Athens (TVC ) never played jackson seoal

However Athens would've been huge favorites over Logan and jackson the last 2 years.
So I would say its safe to say Athens would've won the seoal in 2013 and 2014 , but this is 2015 and I don't think Athens should beat Logan or jackson in 2015

Whether Athens "ran" or not, they have something Logan will never attain; a trip to tje final four in football and and state runner up trophy. Granted, Logan has a runner up trophy in girl's basketball but this is a different animal being football. Talking about playoffs, how many times has Logan beaten a team from up north? How many times has Logan played or even beaten Stuebenville? Does Logan even have the gonads to go into Death Valley and play them? Whether Stuebenville was "down" or not, I still believe they made the state championship in DIV. Speaking of nig fish in a small pond, Logan is quite larger than the SEOAL teams they were playing against. And for the record, what's Logan's record against Lancaster?

The truth is Athens struggled in the seoal in football and now they dominate and will continue to dominate the TVC . Only Athens administration knows why they left the seoal. Athens had a once in a lifetime team in 2014 and it's ashame how Athens posters run in down everyone's throat that they were good in 2014. But that runner up trophy won't win games in 2015.

The 7-29-2 (or 7-31-2) record Logan has against Athens doesn't matter in August 2015.

The fact that Athens played in Week 15 in 2014 won't matter in August 2015.

This might very well be the LAST match-up EVER (given the state of the SEOAL) of these two teams while there is still a SEOAL.

SEOAL Logan versus TVC Athens...who will win the last one. Whoever wins will have some bragging rights about the last match-up of two of the biggest schools in each of their respective leagues.

SEOAL vs. TVC who wins the last game played lol?

This thread will be 25 pages lol by August. Thanks moonshine for getting it started way, way early lol.
