I’m going to pick burg in a close game. And please if the Matthews kid is not healed do not bring him back just to play a football game. Only a worse situation could happen out of another injury. I’m picking burg without him in the lineup. Ashland will be ready for a game.

This game can go either way. I think burgs defense is starting to gel. Offensively I think masters at qb will help open up the passing game.

The burgs D has played one good half of football in 2 games. I’m not sure ironton is anywhere near as good as all there fans think they are. They quit late in the ironton game. The O has trouble executing simple plays. Gonna have to show me something before I start believing in this team.

Maybe a different perspective. Week one burg loses their starting qb and rb also their starting safety and outside lb. so yeah I’m sure it looked like they quit the second half. Week 2 they played basically a small college. No way was burg going to compete with so many young kids starting on each side of the ball. I will agree that they need to find an identity on offense. But they showed some promise in both games so far. I think the pieces are there,just needs fine tuned. I also agree that ironton not the world beaters some of their fans think.. however they are a good team.

I hope they are but this offense has been very hard to watch

I’m not a coach of any sort but I am a fan of learning from any and all situations one encounters in life. I think the young men were given the opportunity to learn how to lose gracefully, and probably more importantly how to look for ways to get THROUGH something everyone knows the outcome is not going to be in your favor instead of ways to get OUT of dealing with those situations.

Hartley called the dogs off after they scored on their first drive of the 3rd quarter I was standing on Hartleys side so I seen when coach Burchfield decided to put subs in and relax a little on the play calling but up until then it was balls to the wall Burg showed some toughness in that game and some young players showed some promise. Hartley just had too many athletes that qb was really fast getting to the edge but game over this week it's Ashland so GO BURG!

Burg arguably has the toughest non-conference schedule of any of the area teams. Now you take a team that graduated one of their most successful group of seniors to play at Burg and for good measure we add into the equation a ton of injuries for this team including a D1 prospect that they were going to have to lean on heavily. With all of these factors the 0-2 start doesn't shock me at all, now another tough team comes to Burg. I think Ashland comes away victorious, however I think this game could be much closer than some outsiders believe. I'm going to take Ashland in this one 20-13 but won't be shocked if Burg pulled it out. Honestly I think this game right here will be a big determining factor in the burg season, do these kid stand up and fight or do they get caught up in the burg name of being 0-2 and let the pressure get to them.
