Look out for the dogs, they will be after some tiger bait. Beware they might break a bunch of records at the tank!

I think Ironton will be better this year but some coaches changes need to be made.

Ironton tradition dictates more trips to playoffs.

I agree. but we need to get back to the basics better. and spend more time in weight training it seems.
I ain't trying to provoke anything negative, quite the opposite.

Getting back to basics at Ironton? Cant and wont happen. Because that would dictate the return of the LEGENDARY Lutz. Not happening. The Basics were:
1)A lot more talent than anyone else in this area.
2)A lot more talent than anyone else in this area.
3)A lot more talent than anyone else in this area.
4)A lot more talent than anyone else in this area.
5)A lot more talent than anyone else in this area.
6)1.0 GPA for player eligibility.
7)A tremendous amount of high impact transfers who were difference makers in what their seasons were compared to what they would have been.
8)Sunday activities with the kids
9)Easily manipulated officiating crews who came in there and did games.

Some other things that I am aware of but this is a start.

wow, the legendary general rears his ugly head again.------------after meeting you, I can certainly see why you are so bitter when you post. the tigers sure have had your teams number for 40 years, so much so that you quit playing them. I do hope you guys join up in the ovc , where we can renew our ummm------------friendship.or at least pick you blue boys back up in non conference play.

the talent is there lets just hope the right coaches show up!!! if 2013 shows up for 2014 well it will be a repeat 2-8,3-7 !! now on the other hand if the right offensive guy is running the offense well your looking at 7-3,8-2,9-1 or even 10-0 !!!

ironton has 2 players that can score from anywhere on field on any given play! they have 2 receivers that can catch anything thrown there way that is talent if used properly!!

I think the talent is there also if used correctly as stated above, the next couple of years should be pretty good for the Tigers.

We passed the ball this year. Howd that work out for uys? Oh yea, not very good. Ironton needs to get back to being a running team. We got the backs to run. Run the ball set up a pass. We didnt have an identity on offense this year. One series you came out T, next series shotgun, and next we ran 1 T and 2 shotgun and 1 punt. There was no way to get mometum going when you keep switching out what you are doing.
Really no matter what we do on offense or defense we wont win unless a few things change. Its not coaching, its not play calling, but attitudes. The attitudes are of the players. Its one thing to hit the weightroom and work hard, but that work ethic hard nosed attitude must carry over into the games. We have had huge guys on the line the past few years, but they have been soft. I dont care if you squat 500lbs or bench 500lbs if you play like a guy who cant lift the bar. Our line play has been our biggest weakness the past few years. We need players that have a mean nasty surly attitude when they hit the field, not a good guy greg. Yea, because of declining jobs and things in our area the talent pool hasnt been as deep as previous decades, but if you work hard and give 100% and bust your butt on the field you can level the playing field and still win games over a more talented team.
