Was Athens' won-loss record in the SEOAL in football even over 50%?

Or are you counting golf, tennis, corn-hole and the like?

I saw nothing wrong with it.
Ironton pretty much won every year
I wasn't saying that at all. just they were a rich part of the history of the league.

Not on a site anywhere. I know a few years ago some of the papers ran the all-time standings for different sports. Randy has all that info, even for sports like tennis.

I think Gallipolis used to print boys basketball stadnings and champions in their winter sports program.

Ironton won or shared the league title every year but one from 72-84 so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he was just staying a fact bait. I don't think he had any other motive.

They sure was for a pretty good stretch. Played hard and always had unstoppable running backs. I loved to watch them play, very hard nosed football and hit like trucks.

Curious to hear if anyone knows if the record 34 game SEOAL winning streak by Ironton in football was ever broken? I believe the streak started in the '71 or '72 season and did not end until the '76 season.

Not 100% sure but I think Logan tied it between 2004/09. Think Jackson stopped it with the first league game in 2010.

It would be interesting to see a list of names from each SEOAL past team that had any players get full ride scholarships to play football at any Power 5 college. Big10, ACC, SEC, Big12, or Pac12.

I know from Logan:

Bob McBride ('40) - Notre Dame - Tackle
Lynn Strait ('58) - Ohio State - Halfback
Robbie Johnson ('64) - Ohio State - LInebacker
John Gasser ('66) - Notre Dame - Safety
Bob Courter ('66) - Wisconsin - Def. Line
Ken Culbertson ('73) - West Virginia - Fullback
Josh Jackson ('92) - Ohio State - Kicker
Brooks Burris ('94) - Ohio State - Tackle

I could be missing a couple. Plus there is Derek Harden ('02) who walked on at OSU, then got put on scholarship as a senior and was a three-year letterman.

Mr. Thompson played his high school football at Glenwood High School in New Boston (SOC). He did play basketball his senior year for Waverly.
