Orange and Brown , If you live in a glass house dont throw stones. I think most would agree more controversy has happened AT Boston field than anywhere in the league.
Wellston will win the league next season ,at worse co-champs. :aaaaa5

I have never seen bad refs until I wtched a game at Wellston. Now that being said it is a hard job and it is hard to find good refs. I wouldn't do it.

I think there even could be 3-way tie for the crown next year.

I see it could go to either or all of these teams:

Wellston
N-Y
Meigs

Wellston vs VC
NY vs Wellston
Meigs vs Belpre

All three of those games could have them with one TVC-Ohio loss.

Athens could be the spoiler next year.

Best of luck to all four...but hopefully this will be Wellston's year. Especially with the kids they have playing. They have been playing together on the Varsity as Sophmores.

They called us. Told us they were an mediocre division 6 school. We havent really heard much bout them in Ashton. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light about this team before we sign the contract.

Other schools don't have to worry about losing those kinds of numbers. In reality, after you take away the boys via Soccer, Golf, Cross Country, Boys Tennis - Athens is left with the numbers more in tune with Division V or even Division VI football teams.

How do you think being a Division V or VI school and having soccer, Golf, and Cross Country. We all suffer from it. It is not just Athens so we really can't use that excuse.

That is funny. WELLSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are a much improved team, but win the TVC.

NY
Athens
Meigs
Wellston
Alex
V.C.
Belpre

You could flip flopWellston, Alex and V.C. in any order but the top three are right on I think.

Belpre at the bottom? Core of Belpre team in 09 will be the Juniors. Belpre only lost one major impact player to the senior class. I think things will turn around for them in 09.

My guess is that they need a game in week 10, the week that they played Wahama this year. Due to the TVC-Ohio having an odd number of teams, each school has an open week in conference play in weeks 4-10. Athens open week is week 10. That is a hard week to fill.

Hopefully, it will, if the skill players learn to take care of the ball.

Belpre was really bad last year. I thought they would be pretty darn good but they weren't so until they show they can be consistant I feel like they will finish near the bottom. :122245 :122245 :122245 I really hope that they turn it around and keep it turned around soon.

One thing is fur sure; nobody knows what is gonna happen next year!

The only given is that N-Y- will have good solid, hard htting football players and posses the best player in the league (Derek Arnold)

Other than that - its all up to the kids and how hard they work; what players develope and grow or become faster or stronger ... maybe a team recieves a few impact transfers ... maybe some teams lose players to an injury tor two ...etc...etc...

If anyone would have predicted that athens would go 3-3 after getting torched in every game in 2007, they would be lying ... those kids worked their A** off and it paid dividens in the fall .... who knows what teams and players will do the same for next year.

All we can go on is 'speculation' and what few star players we have back ... ARNOLD, PRATER, WILKET, HARRIS, MCoLLUM OR how about 6-FOOT-4 FRANK VALENTOUR who is tearing up the hardwood at 20 pts/10 reb per game - he is Athens 2nd bext WR, he could really be a force next year! ... its guys like that who are just now growing and developing that will make the difference next year ... same could be said about CONNER BUNTING for N-Y ... and SMITH & WELL look good for Meigs this winter.

Was at the Athens High School the other day and saw three new trophies in the case. TVC champs in golf and boys/girls XC. Guess the move is paying off some.

Don't know much about the TVC or its workings but I saw three brand new trophies proudly displayed in the case outside the gym. Must have been enough teams, I would have guessed one would have been boys soccer but there must not be enough teams for that in the TVC.

It won't be long before most of the TVC regret letting them in. Mr. Robinson pulled a good one there.

Congrats to an old SEOAL foe on your new accomplishments.

All TVC OHIO schools have cross country. NY was the last holdout and added the sport last year and has now competed two seasons in cross country.

NY finished 4th in the TVC OHIO in Boys Cross Country and fifth overall. NY did not have enough participants in girls Cross Country to qualify for a team score for the girls.

Here were the TVC Cross Country Championship Results:

Boys Team
1.Athens-(32)
2.Wellston-(96)
3.Southern-(97)
4.Alexander-(122)
5.Nelsonville-York-(132)
6.Meigs-(138)
7.Vinton Co-(160)
8T. Trimble-(175)
8T. Belpre-(175)

Girls Team
1.Athens-(30)
2.Meigs-(56)
3.Vinton Co-(78)
4.Alexander-(92)
5.Trimble-(116)

Here are the league champions in each of the Fall Sports for the TVC OHIO:

Football - Nelsonville-York
Volleyball - Alexander
Golf - Athens
Boys Cross Country - Athens
Girls Cross Country - Athens

Soccer is not a league sport in the TVC, as only Athens, Alexander and Belpre field soccer teams at this time.

The TVC also awards an all-TVC team in both Boys and Girls Cross Country. The all-TVC team includes the top 10 finishers during the league meet for the boys and the girls. The fact that so few people know this should send a signal to the media that they do not cover the results of some sports as much as they should.

Boys All TVC Team
Kyle Goode-Southern-(17:48)
Steven Rhue-Athens-(18:04)
Anthony Fleming-Wellston-(18:18)
Ben McAdoo-Athens-(18:24)
Keith Aiker-Eastern-(18:29)
Braydon Gates-Belpre-(18:30)
John Seimes-Athens-(18:36)
Dirk Malone-Alexander-(18:45)
Larry Wu-Athens-(18:45.9)
Colby Roseberry-Southern-(18:49)

Girls All TVC Team
Emily Skidmore-Alex-(20:43)
Syd Schulz-Athens-(21:19)
Devon Soulsby-Meigs-(21:31)
Lauren Nichols-Athens-(21:37)
Taylor Mullins-Wellston-(21:39)
Brandi Hayes-VC-(21:49)
Joannah Tiadonyan-Athens-(21:52)
Mellissa Writesel-Wellston-(22:19)
Morgan Leutes-Meigs-(22:21)
Rachel Stewart-Athens-(22:35)

Since not all Hocking schools have sports like Cross Country and Wrestling, there is only one unified leage champion in these sports, so the few schools in the Hocking that have these sports are included with the TVC OHIO schools and compete for the same championship.
