I would love for this to be a blowout in Jackson's favor, but I highly doubt it. Close games like last night's are just way too stressful!!! As far as crowd size goes, there were alot of empty seats at Alumni Stadium last night . Kind of disappointing when you have a team that is 3-0, going into league play!! We do have a solid core of fans though that are always there, home or road, rain or shine!! Even with the Apple Festival in Jackson next week, I am sure we will a decent crowd Friday night at Gallipolis.

I would estimate the GAHS crowd; at least the ones who walked all the way around to the visitors side to sit, at perhaps 300 or so; certainly not your typical GAHS road crowd. We filled the visitors side at Athens, and had a nice crowd at Ironton, although there are more than a few Ironton fans who sit on the visitors side so it is impossible to gauge the size of our crowd for that one. Reasons for the small crowd?

* Perhaps weather was of prime concern as it rained most of Thursday night and much of Friday.

* Perhaps the injuries at Ironton and the perceived blow out many had

* Perhaps the story that ran in the Gallipolis paper about construction around the new HS and stadium and shuttle service

* Perhaps some just dont like long drives; although the new Super Two from Pomeroy to Athens shortens the trip by 10-15 minutes. If they ever get the bypass around Nelsonville done, it will really be a pleasant trip.

At any rate this was by far the smallest GAHS crowd I can ever remember. I might have thought that curiosity alone wanting to see Logan's new "digs" might have brought out a few more folks.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE , FOREVER--- WE USUALLY TRAVEL REAL WELL AND YOUR POINTS ARE WELL TAKEN.

4ever,

Sometimes Jackson isn't at home during Apple Festival week. It just depends on how the schedule falls. No Apple Bowl this year for the Ironmen. Hopefully the Apple Festival isn't a distraction though. The Ironmen need to be completely focused when they travel down to Gallipolis.

BLUEDEVILFAN6 said it best. This is Gallia Academy's BIG GAME. They're gonna be fired up when the Ironmen come to town.

I think that Gallia will keep it close early, then Jackson pulls away with their power game in the second half.

I think Jackson will be fine if we just take care of the ball. I believe that is our biggest obstacle. WE can't give Gallia any gifts. It would be nice to jump out on them and than just chew up the clock Woody Hayes style. I know I am old school. Should be fun, and hope it does not rain. Good luck to both teams and go Ironmen!

No disrespect to Jackson, they are having a great year but it will be nice to get away from the powerhouses of Ironton and Logan. I hope it is a close game and noone gets hurt. GO BLUE and Blue Steel I like your analogy of playing close to home to have a good gate or save $ but us playing Logan this year would go against that. Gates will be there if you win if you do not they wont, people are just like that, they will not show up during a bad season for any team. I know I will no matter what. When the team is a little weaker they need all of the support they can get. GO BLUE

Jackson just might run up a higher score than the Tigers or Chiefs did.

Ironmen02:

I have been a long time reader of your posts going back to jjhuddle back when David Swisher was running the football for Jackson. One thing I have always respected about you, is that you always, always defend Jackson football on these websites. Whether it is Gahs_4ever making fun of Jackson's losing streak to Gallia, or boilermaker trashing Jackson for the 2003 football game in which Wellston still feels like they were robbed, you have always, ALWAYS argued with these gentlemen in favor of the honor of Jackson football. You are a great representation of Ironmen football fans.

Yet, 2old CONSTANTLY gets on these Jackson threads, and serves up back-handed compliments toward Jackson. Such as, "I think Jackson will win, but their schedule is weak." Ironmen92 is 100% right in saying that 2old has beaten this to the ground. He has been all over Jackson's schedule since before SEOPS was ever around. 2old, in my opinion, is interested in putting Jackson, or any other SEOAL school, down whenever he can, simply because anyone who lives in Logan is a better person than anyone who lives in Jackson simply because Logan has now won more SEOAL titles than Jackson has all time. At least that is how it comes across to me.

So my question to you, Ironman02, is why, oh why, do you never go after 2old? You allow him to get all over Jackson, and you never, ever get on him for his negative posts. Why the heck is that? How are his posts different than boilermaker's or gahs_4ever? Are you afraid to challenge him? Do you know him and think he's a great guy??? If he's a great guy, than that proves that his posts do nothing but stir the pot and try to make people mad. Because after reading his posts for 5+ years, I will NEVER believe that he is a great guy. He has an agenda to make as many people as possible feel the Chieftain Envy that he so famously throws around..

So do you have Chieftain Envy Ironman02? Because I never remember 2old ever claiming that you do. Why don't you step up and defend Jackson from 2old's attacks instead of agreeing with all the time????

Do,

let me make this easy for you. You have a perception problem. Your view of me has been developed by reading posts of others. I have NEVER been in the business of putting SEOAL teams down. You know not what you write. i do put down the scheduling. I know Jackson can DO better. Is wanting teams to be better putting teams down? if it is then explain to me how that works.

It says alot about your character when you say you will not beleive i am a great guy. YOU do not know me. That is a foolish thing to say.

it is easy to get the seal of approval of many posters. The trick is to never be honest. To just say go Chiefs and things like that. Believe me if you play well hear it from 2old. But honestly when the closest league game Logan had last season was 18 points.

Yet Logan lost in the first round of the playoffs. It should be clear on why i seek improvement in the level of play in this conference.

This is a strange country. i am rooting for the opponents of the team i support to get BETTER and the supporters of those TEAMS think i am a bad guy. While you are at it explain that one to me.

AS for 02. Yep i know him and i respect him. He is a fine young man.

2old,
The solution is so simple. Join a bigger league. Especially a league in your area. Play the big boys up there year in and year out and maybe you could get out of the first round. You say it is the leagues fault you guys have FAILED in the playoffs. You have had a good run on talent and you beat your chest like tarzan, but you hit like Jane. Your team has been successful because of the players and coaches, not from the SEO Preps poster running his mouth. I hope Ironton takes it to you guys this week.

Gallia is always interesting. I would love for the Ironmen to pull away early and just pound the ball. Go IRONMEN!!! Its nice to not have the monkey off our back this year. Should help out tremendously.

I didn't know that I was agreeing with 2old ALL the time. He and I have had our fair share of disagreements on here and on JJHuddle. However, I do agree that Jackson's schedule could be improved. Just because I live and breathe Jackson football does not necessarily mean that I can't think they could play a better schedule. I would like to see some new additions to the schedule, but as I have said, I can also understand the reasoning behind why the schedule hasn't changed, and probably will not. I'm sorry if people have gotten the impression that I'm not supporting Jackson when I discuss the schedule, but that simply isn't true. I always want what's best for the Jackson football program.

I do know 2old and his son and they have both been extremely kind to me. I have talked with 2old many times and I know his feelings about Jackson football...and I also know his feelings about scheduling. From everything he has said to me, 2old respects Jackson football, but he feels that the program should be challenged by a more difficult schedule in order to improve on the whole. I agree with that strategy to a point and that's why I don't get on here and jump all over him for saying it. I get tired of scheduling talk after a while and I believe I made that point clear on this topic and the Portsmouth topic last week.

In the future, if 2old says something that I disagree with, I'll tell him about it just as he would to me. But I'm not gonna get carried away and argue about schedules when a lot of what he is saying makes sense. Jackson fans might not like to hear their schedule be criticized, and believe me, I don't like it either. But the schedule is what it is, and it could be better. Obviously Jackson doesn't need to go out and schedule DeSales or Watterson, but a series with Sheridan, John Glenn(which fell through a few years ago), Miami Trace, or Circleville(who Jackson has played before) might be something to think about. At the same time though, gas prices are high and budgets are tight, which is why I completely understand our scheduling philosophy.

What 4 ever used to do back in the day was start a thread of information about the upcoming contest between Jackson and Gallia Academy....in that he always mentioned the "streak" which upset some Jackson huddlers..........personally my thought was if we would make some plays and win the streak would be gone......but dont whine about it...do something about it......and since we have it's gone.

But of 4 ever's 40,000+ posts on the two main sites he has been very respectful of many.......the only thing he's ever done to me was forget he owed me a veal and I had to wait until our playoff game to get payback......but he is pretty old. lol

And I for the most part agree with 2old on most things he type...he definately does some of this posting for fun and agitation of others......but in general what he says I agree with......but just think he has completely made his point about scheduling.

And the guy can't be that great to Jackson....he is from Wellston.
