Hate to break this to some of you but only DI and DII NCAA schools actually sign LOI's. And several of those schools are not NCAA I or II

Several? Ky christian is NAIA anD Marietta is d3

There is an NAIA loi even though it is not a NLI. Usually honored by conference only.
Only players that recieve football money sign letters of intent but many of these kids got other aid. Getting on a dII roster is still a great accomplishment and very few dII players are on full athletic scholarships.

Don't think I knocked anyone's accomplishments, just setting the record straight. Misinformation is the crux of many evils.

Why did you say several then?
You also need to know this thread was merged with one titled, where is everyone going next year.

Well John, I probably used the word several because there are schools listed that do NOT participate in the NLI program.

Namely: Mount Union, Marietta, Army, and Kentucky Christian. In all those represent 7 people listed in this thread, that would constitute several. Figure in the Non-Scholarship programs such as Morehead State and there are a couple others listed that did not sign NLI's. Just symantics.

Well you said several schools, not several athletes, if you want to go into semantics. Like I said, most of those later posts were in a thread called "Who is going where" and did not say who signed a NLI on signing day. Those boys all signed up to play football next fall and the hype of signing day has nothing to do with that.

And while you are right about ARMY they do sign a commitment.

http://www.goarmysports.com/sports/m-fo ... 12aab.html
"It's probably not quite as dramatic as it is some places because we're on signatories to the National Letter, but an awful lot of guys have that date as `zero hour,'" Army Ellerson explains. "They're going to sign something, even if it's just a certificate from us stating that they're going to attend West Point and we're glad to have them; but we can't release that. They can certainly release it. The young men can talk to the media and talk about their intentions. We're just not allowed to comment on it. But because the rest of the college football world is centering around that date, our guys do as well. Most of those decisions have been made well ahead of time, but there's still a sense of ceremony, still a sense of celebration at that moment."

Four schools would be several.

Wrong, five or six is several, four is some, less than four is a few. You don't seem to get that many of those posts were in a different thread and one of the moderators merged the two threads into one.

All that matters is that these kids get a shot at a good education and that they get to play football as a bonus. Who cares if 3, 5, or 100 schools are interested in a kid.
