I have spoken to a some of the candidates and it appears that the decision making process is under way. Good luck to the new coach, whoever he may be and I wish the student/athletes the best of luck and a successful season. GO RAIDERS!

I was given the impression that they were going to do all the interviews (I think there were at least 10) and then make the call.

do you really think one interview will give you the best shot at getting to know someone, and give a program to them in one face to face.

Depends on whether or not you know the candidates beforehand. :12222

Several of the interviewees are well-known by the interviewers.

The first three interviewees had a combined total of almost 20 years coaching at RV amongst them (1 year, almost 14 years, 4-5 years).

Perhaps it is more of a process of elimination rather than selection.

I recently read an interesting quote that I thought was appropriate for this thread. It is from the famous Coach Bobby Knight:

"The key is not the will to win... everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important."

This has went from being a joke. To being a complete and total screw up by the administration. If they hire someone from within how stupid will this look when they could of had this coach all along working with the kids. Its only been 5-6 months since the other coach resigned.

It kind of makes it look like they aren't going to hire within.

Maybe we can start mens volleyball and soccer, and put an end to football and basketball. This would probably satisfy some of the powers that be.

What problems do you think having volleyball and soccer would solve?
If it has taken this long and still no coach for an existing program, how long do you think it would take to get those started? 5 million years or so?
