That is the oldest roomer out there.Every year Caldwell says they are going to built a stadium and every year they don't.I was in 4 H and Caldwell football players were cool to us when we had animals in the barn and they were using it as a lockerroom. Many moons ago now I am showing my age Caldwell would play a game or two at Shenandoah always fair week game. I doubt Shenandoah would be interested in renting field 5 times a year.

From what I remember about Shenandoah's Field, there is no way it would stand up to ten games (plus maybe Jr. High and biddy league). It would be a quagmire. Maybe the Noble County Schools should team up and build a nice turf field somewhere.

2003 Shenandoah? That was Shenandoah's best team that I can remember. I always felt Buckeye Trail 1994, Shenandoah 2003 and Barnesville 2006 were teams who had a real chance to win a state championship but fell short. 1994 Trail fell short after losing to Wellsville in the state semi finals and had a real chance to win. Wellsville lost a close one the next week to Versails in the state championship. 2003 Shenandoah lost a tight game to Amanda Clearcreek in the regional final that they were clearly the better team. Clearcreek went on to lose a close game in the state championship. Barnesville 2006 lost to Warren JFK in the playoffs in a game Barnesville clearly dominated. JFK went on to lose to St Henry in the state championship. I would rank those three as the best small teams around here that I can remember.
1. Shenandoah 2003
2. Buckeye Trail 1994
3. Barnesville 2006

Yes it was the 2003 team the seniors wood have graduated in 2004 so it makes sense to call them the 2004 team not 2003.

Are you a looney tune character the monroe central team you describe lost by 100 if that happens to you you were not almost a state champ.

2003 Shenandoah didn't even win their region. I'll take a regional championship over no regional championship any day of the week

From a neutral perspective if you are giving me a PVC team in 2001 I will take Shenandoah. Although Monroe went further, that Monroe team was not great team.

I know this, that Bedford Chanel team was no joke, at least their running back Tony Franklin was not. I didn't catch this game, but I did catch the State Championship game where Franklin ran for 393 yards against Marion Pleasant and won something along the lines of 44-28.

Barnett would of dominated Caldwell 15. Shenandoah in 03/04 would of beat 15 Caldwell by 2-3 scores. 15 Caldwell didn't even win this league.

For what it's worth calpreps.com agrees with that. It says '03 Shenandoah would beat '15 Caldwell 31-20. It also thinks they would beat '15 Danville 34-28, also beating '15 Mogadore 28-27, and losing to D7 state champs '15 Fort Recovery only 27-24. So, again, for what it's worth this website thinks '03 Shenandoah would have been state runner ups in D7 by 3 points in 2015. There is my bit of useless knowledge for the day!

I have been saying this exact thing for a few years now.....build a nice stadium, track and baseball/softball complexes central to both schools and share. It can be done, many schools do this same thing.

In regards to Caldwell building a stadium by another poster, first time I have ever heard that "rumor". They would like to build a stadium, and if they decided to do so, would not be ready for this coming season.

Not to be down on Tyler Engle in any way, but I would try to think of someone else for the list. Maybe he could have been, but the program was in a very bad place while Tyler was in school. Thinking of a Cadet to put on this list will be interesting, I think.

Think Derick Hesson of Caldwell has to be top 10. Schumacher easily the best football player. Overall best athlete in PVC would be Jed Stephens.
